great shoes!
I still own these shoes even though I got them a few years ago. I don’t wear them that often but that’s mostly because I don’t want to get them dirty. They’re good shoes, made from a good, comfortable material and they fit perfectly.

Half Priced, special edition "Yellow Submarine" Vans?! Yeah we love them!
Hands down favorite design of Vans yet! They were for my 17 year old son who will only wear Vans - and only then classic style, but lately has veered away from plain colors and has gotten into their special collection designs. They do not look girly on him by any means even though the colors might appear more "feminine" due to the good ole classic look of the shoe. Unlike some Vans, these specifically are 100% made by Vans (even though they'll say authentic, Vans themselves rarely make all three parts of the shoe. The Beatles collection (along with other Van specific collections) are of their design and complete make. We've had longer wear from the ones where every part was made at California, so we try to stick to those. The other awesome thing about these and other collections (like the new Ninentendo ones!) is the special design touches particular to design. These have a cool yellow submarine logo (that's the name of the collection, btw) for the tongue tag that many people have noticed, causing them to look closer at the shoe, actually reading it and go on about cool they are. Its pretty hard to tell what they say unless you bend down, from above they look like a cool multi-color pattern. These also come in a special Yellow Submarine box that is cool just by itself and a paper cut out on a chain. It probably would've been wise to have ordered another pair to add to my Beatles collection because these will be valuable to a collector one day. And best part, paid less than half price than normal pair of Vans!

Vans. 'Nuff Said!
Vans. 'Nuff said. But just in case you need some clarification. They are a classic and durable skateboard (or regular fashion statement) shoe. As soon as they were delivered, I strapped on the laces, grabbed my skateboard, and shredded it up at my local skatepark for 2 hours straight! Not a "griptape scuff" in sight! Just a little dirt from the asphalt, but that came right off with a Clorox Wipe.My Vans came in Red. The Red really pops, and is bright and well contrasted against the white soles/laces. Beautiful. I got lots of compliments! I also ordered my regular shoe size, which is a Men's 7. Boom! Fit perfectly. No breaking in period required. Just strap on and go! 5 Stars baby! Now...what are you waiting for? Order them right now! :D

Great Shoe!
I got these shoes in a size 6.5 in mens (I'm an 8 in womens) and they fit wonderfully. I have noticed, though, that Vans generally tend to run a little larger than say, Nike. Additionally, they're naturally a bit of a wider shoe. The color is super vibrant, and it doesn't fade easily. Mine have lasted about a year and a half of daily use. The white bottoms do get quite dirty but you can easily clean them with some detergent and a toothbrush. The laces are super easy to clean too- I just throw them in the washer. They don't have much arch support, but they're supposed to be skate shoes, which means they're built to be flat. They're pretty comfortable on their own, but after a full day of walking around, like if you have a retail job, your feet will get a little sore because they don't offer much support. However, I've found that if you put some foot inserts for arch support, they're a great everyday shoe. You won't be disappointed with these shoes! I get compliments all of the time and they're some of my favorite shoes!

Runs big
I ordered an 8.5 and they were too big. They are also very wide in the toe box. The look of them is great. And the comfort is traditional Vans. Just a little chucky for me, I don't remember them being this chunky, I ma use to the Rata Lo.

Skate, Feel, Look....
These shoes look good, feel good, and skate good. I had never purchased Vans before but had heard of them and about them for years. With retro skateboards being the new "In" thing, I started skateboarding again. Back in the day, I went barefoot, but now that I am an old person, my tender toes needed protection. Normal shoes just wouldn't cut it. The best traction you can get is with bare feet... and the next best thing, apparently are Vans. Right away, I got on one of my boards and these things stuck like glue. Amazing. They have nice soft rubber soles that stick to that Retro plastic board like nothing else. Forget that stupid sandpaper grit grip tape... just get a plastic retro board and some Vans. Awesome! Also, these aren't actually "men's" shoes. I am not sure that Vans actually makes any gender specific shoe. They are unisex. Women's sizes are generally 1.5 larger than men's sizes. So a women's 8.5 is equal to a men's 7. A women's 9 equal to a men's 7.5... etc.

ALWAYS COMFORTABLE & ALWAYS IN STYLE!
So it's official: I absolutely love these shoes. I'm an old school chick still living in the classics like Chucks, Docs and Vans so this simple throwback style is right up my alley. Usually I always wear the slip-ons by Vans but I finally talked myself into ordering these in the off-white version with blue trim. So adorable. These definitely remind me of Keds but with a thicker sole and not as much arch support. The canvas is a little thin for my liking, so if I move my toes around I can see them poking the material up (that's what makes the shell toe on Converse so great - you avoid that problem altogether!). I think the fabric for the slip-ons might be just a tad thicker because I've never noticed this problem wearing those, but it's only a big deal if you have restless toes or long toenails (yikes). I sprayed mine with some stain repellant since my darker jeans tend to transfer ink onto my shoes sometimes and they still look great after wearing them a few weeks. I normally wear a women's 10 and ordered the 8.5 unisex size instead of the 8 that Amazon sizing suggested. I think they fit perfectly and I'm glad I got my normal size. These Vans are just a laid-back pair of shoes that will never go out of style, so I highly recommend them.

I like these shoes.
I like these shoes. They fit moderately well. I say this because by I usually have problems with fit. Would I buy this size and brand again? Yes. Would I wear them on a long walk? Probably not. The red color is a clear red, not light or dark.

Durability over a year of wear
I purchased the shoes in May 2019. They arrived on time, in excellent condition. I wore them every day since I bought them and put them through long walks sightseeing in Italy in the summer, walks over wet and muddy terrain and everyday walking while commuting (in the rain). They are very comfortable to wear for long walks and the sole is thick enough so it does not wear badly and every step you take is cushioned. The first sign of wear was at the back of the shoe where the fabric had started coming apart (see the first image). This was understandable as I usually tug on this part when trying to get the shoe on. Then the rubber around the base of the canvas started to crack as a result of a lot of walking causing it to bend and eventually crack (see the second image). Lastly, after 9 months of wearing the shoes, a hole appeared in the canvas above where my big toe sits in the shoe (see the third image). This was very strange as I don't have sharp toenails and I wear socks with the shoes. This was slightly disappointing as I expected them to last at least a year before they became unwearable. However, I understand that I wore them consistently for 9 months and I had put them through a lot of different conditions. As a result, I would recommend these shoes as they are very comfortable for long walks and if you do not wear them every day like I did and in the rain, they are likely to last for a long time.

Recommend buying half a size smaller than usual shoe size
i love the versatility of these trainers (can be worn with almost any outfit). If you are a woman I would recommend buying them in half a size down, as I am usually a size 7 but a size 6.5 in these is a better fit (probably due to them being unisex trainers). I loved them so much I got them in both grey and black, although the grey is definitely my favourite.

Great shoe, goes with anything
Over the moon at the price I got them for. I'm really pleased. I had my last pair for 3 years, I hope this pair lasts the same amount of time! The vans shoe does tend to rub the back of my heel, but I always put heel guards in now which are gel to protect it. It also stops the shoe from slipping/slopping off your foot. Well worth the money, such a versatile shoe

Comfortable and stylish
Nice looking shoes. Needed a bit of wearing in but now very comfortable. Perfect for the not too cold autumn weather. I think they were a good price at £30.
