Great sound, great price, great construction, made in Germany, definitely a great buy ...
This are a semi open over ear headphones competing in the “audiophile enthusiast/hobbyist” range.I have the DT 880 and I love them, my preferred vial to enjoy my everyday poison (my tidal playlists).Feels solid, not flimsy (solid metal construction), very nice built but still comfortable for medium / long sessions. As the DT 880’s are semi open they’re not 100% isolated, so you shouldn’t take this outside trough the world (planes, public transit, etc.) or use it in noisy environments. They’re perfect (and even designed) for home listening in a quiet environment according to Beyerdynamic. Note also that they’re NOT portable, it’s hard to transport over the ear headphones with metal parts.About the sound, the DT 880 Frequency Response is not flat but feels but feels almost completely flat, (it’s the flattest one if you compare this to their siblings DT 770 and DT 990). It’s flat and good enough throughout most of the range where music lives.I can hear frequencies (and tested files) as low as 20Hz and all the way up to 15khz (my hearing threshold) and no harsh sounds.I noticed a small dip in the 4kHz frequency response (common for high end headphones to counter act resonances in human hear) and then a spike around the 8-10kHz that very sensitive ears could notice. (that’s why some comments about “a bit harsh on treble”), again, almost doesn’t affect my music, probably you won’t notice it either and nothing a bit of equalization couldn’t fix.Of course, sound quality is like a chain, it’s as good as it’s weakest link. You’re going to notice all this if your headphones are NOT the weakest part, so please pair this with a decent setup (a good Sound Card / Player / DAC, with HI-RES files with great masters).Even the internal components of the DT 880 and the DT 880 Pro are identical (same sound profile) the only differences are in the headband and cable, The Pro version is tighter for commercial applications and uses coiled cable vs. the regular version that has a softer headband and straight cable for enjoying at home. Note that the Premium edition is and old name referring the DT 880 so it’s the home use / regular DT 880 and not a 3rd version.Final note, choose the 32 OHM version, pairs great with mobile phones and computers (3.5mm connector) if you don’t have a dedicated Amplifier / DAC.

Quality Headphones for Judging DAW Mix, Great Refurbished Product
I got into home studio recording about 3 years ago. I only had 2 pairs of headphones purchased for under $30 each. One pair of closed back had started to have deterioration of headband vinyl covering. A friend with more experience, and much more studio equipment, recommended these 880s. They have a far superior flat and broad sound than the cheap ones. They are much closer to what I hear through my powered speakers. They are semi open backed, so there is a small amount of bleed, but I don't require complete isolation, because I am working in my apartment. One pair of the old cheap open backs bleeds a lot, so I heard it captured when I self recorded. I was thinking bleed from the 880s might be captured when I record myself playing flamenco guitar, or my wife singing, but that wasn't the case. So, very happy.

Amazing and lightweight pair of headphones, but headband and sliders are a let down.
I love this headphones and will continue using them for along time, but the sliders on the headphones seem to bend after being used for awhile causing them to slide up and down without any force which can be annoying.

DEFINITELY NOT DISAPPOINTED!
I love these headphones. They are semi-open backs, but the sound doesn't leak anything like my HifiMan full open-backs. So you can enjoy them around others without feeling ashamed for sound polluting their day. I use these and my Sony XBA N3s most of the time. I know good sound/headphones - these are good and the price is palatable which is most important. Do what you want though. Either way, I'll be enjoying mine.

Great for gaming
I bought this for my son. His last pair of headphones broke so I search Amazon and found these. He loved them. He uses them everyday. He said they provide a good sound and fit well. So well that he can’t hear me sometimes (or it’s selective hearing lol). But they are a great purchase.

Ears don't get tired
Probably the best purchase I've made in a long time on Amazon. I got these renewed or barely used at nearly half off the new price and I can say that I've never been happier or more engaged in a recording session because I'm not experiencing ear fatigue as frequently.

Stopped working after warranty basis
Stay away. It literally crapped out once it past the 90 day warranty mark. I've had these for 3 months.Edit: Was also charged a restocking fee. First time on amazon for that. Again, stay away.

Well balanced, great sound quality
I've been a long time Beyerdynamic user and I bought this one because it is 32 Ohm and it is possible to drive it without an amplifier, which is more convenient for casual daily use.Beautifully designed and well-crafted fits into my head easily. Cushions on the ears are soft to touch. You will still notice the weight but definitely not something that would bother you for moderate use. Well-balanced sound quality, semi-open design. The wire is long enough so it can fit on various spots of your desk and be adjusted to your sitting position. After using it for a few weeks, I realize that in order to let it perform at full potential, you might still need an amp. Otherwise, turn up the volume and you can still get a decent result.Overall, recommended for daily use.
