You need to check the manual or go by an autozone and they can let you know exactly what you need. **Q: Gap? For a ford expmorer 2013 3.5L???** A: If this vehicle has a Turbocharged engine, you will want to gap the plugs to 0.025". If not please gap your plugs to manufacturer specifications. Did major service. Transmission fluid, filter, open thermostat and new cooler. Oil cooler /double oil filter w 8 quart capacity, 160 degree thermostat, and a catch can. Everything running at 165 degrees now in Arizona. (note to Ecoboost owners. Ford puts thermostat in transmission only opens at 185 degrees to cooler. so tranny runs in 200's. Designed to fail, Period. Drop your pan and replace with a open thermostat and save your tranny. Also if you want to decrease carbon build up find a low evaporation oil (NOACK rating) Pennzoil ultra is very good and less expensive than big names. These plugs were the last thing. The plugs i took out were factory original. nothing left of barb. So surprised it ran as well as it did. checked old gap. They were beyond.035. Gapped these new plugs at .030. What a difference in performance. WOW. The turbo's are alive now! I also added 8 oz of NMF Ionic friction reducer to oil and 7 oz to tranny. I have a test drive loop that i use of 50 miles mostly with cruise set at 60 mph. new mileage increase of 2.7 mpg. I will post back in 5000 miles and give update. I should have listened to the other bad review. Not worth it. Got the ngx iridium and runs fine now. These lasted me about 2 weeks and a drive from north Carolina to Florida. Packaging was terrible. These are a definite improvement over even the older Pulstar plugs (I had the iridium) and a dramatic improvement over the Autolite plugs I pulled out. My engine went from being so hesitant I had to rev it to engage the clutch to being brand-new responsive, and that's at 137,000 miles.
