It’s a chunky, open mix which permits air circulation between the roots and has excellent drainage properties. The base ingredient is washed coco peat, which has natural rooting hormones and good moisture retention properties. We add silica rich, heat-treated rice hulls to discourage soil compaction. Silica stimulates cell production in roots and stems to encourage strong growth. We add crushed coco husk chips. The coco husk chips not only aid drainage but act as miniature sponges which reserve air and nutrients around the roots. Coco husk chips contain short strands of fiber which channel moisture around the roots to help eliminate dry spots. Finally, we add coco husk shell charcoal.
