I've got issues about control and lack of it when it comes to people. This Christmas I've got relatives staying in the house and among many problems this creates, a big concern was control of the fridge and items that have been opened getting used without me knowing.Trying to come up with practical solutions wasn't easy at first since my first instinct was get a mini fridge but others in the house with me were not enthusiastic about that idea.So I started to try and come up with other ideas. After dismissing a small safe and drilling holes in the fridge so as to put in a wire mesh that could be padlocked to protect the top shelf etc, all of which got rejected by everyone else unsurprisingly. I eventually came across these bags and they are a cheap, very simple and elegant solution I feel and everyone else in the house agreed too.I can put opened food like ham, cheese and jars of various things all inside them and then put the plastic tag in the slot and know if someone uses them. There also big enough to take a 2L bottle of Evian which is nice to make sure no one else drinks from it. It's not about making sure they can't get into it as they can just pull the plastic clip out (Sold separately). The advantage of the system is I then know if they do and then simply don't use what's inside again. It's the not knowing part and lack of control over the items that stresses me.With the exception of the zip hooks themselves the zip locking mechanism and the zip pull tab to open and close the zip is made out of plastic which if your like me will find a bonus as I consider metal to be `dirty' and not something I want to touch when dealing with food.So while I have no experience about sending them through the mail I can recommend them for anyone else with similar control issues looking for shared fridge space item control. Or just control of items in general without the fridge.
