Is the bottom (black) pot made of stainless steel or painted steel? or plastic? I like the boil-dry protection. Thanks.

The black exterior is plastic-but the inside is stainless steel.

Can I use this steamer to make baby food?

Baby food as in : steam brocolli, potatoes, maybe fruits like apple? You can steam anything you want. I make my hard boiled egg ( directly put in the water reservoir), as well as the tray to steam it.

can steel water bowl inside appliance be remove to wash? could it also be use to put rice in it to cook?

The water bowl is not removable. I personally wouldn’t use it for rice because I think it would be difficult to clean. You could stem rice in the top if you used a heatsafe bowl.

Is it easy to boil eggs in this steamer?

Yes just put in and turn on cooker
