I was unimpressed by this book and after having flicked through it and looking at all the potential experiments I found just one I wanted to do...I then picked up the evil genius 101 spy gadgets and have now completely forgotten what it was that I wanted to do in the mechatronics book...Its that good.If you want an intro into mechatronics then this might be okay, but it's so basic as to be laughable...Hmm saying that it might be great for supervised children to look at.

Finally! An electronics/robotics book that is truly accessible (both academically and financially)to readers who are just starting out in either of these fascinating fields. The projects in the book make use of materials that are widely available, and in most cases can easily be scavenged from old VCR's and other electronic scrap materials. The background material for each project is both clear and concise. This is quite easily one of the best entries in the series.

Got this for our adult daughter who had been eyeing the book for some time.  Glancing through the book, even my husband thought it would be fun to try the projects.  Some reviews say it's for school kids, but I don't think so!
