Young Bloods (Wellington and Napoleon 1) Kindle Edition

I saw these books whilst looking for something else and decided to give them a read. I love historical fiction books and these rare up there with the Sharpe series.

The fact that it wasn't genuine history was a drawback, but I learned more than I ever knew about the two men and the period. I'm interested in more information and the author generously made suggestions as to where I can get it.

Great beginning to the story of Napoleon and the Duke of Wellington. The early years are a little boring. I’m hoping for something a little better in the next book, which I bought.

Simon Scarrow is an excellent writer. Everything he writes is easy to read and keeps your attention. His characters are believable and real. Would highly recommend this book and the his other three in the set.

I enjoyed the story it stuck pretty well to historical facts but presented them in an entertaining view. I am reading # 2 in the series The Generals now, already like it, didn't know how Napoleon or Wellington had similar careers before they eventually meet at Waterloo. Great series if you like Cornwell you'll enjoy Mr Scarrows novels.

A good ans interesting read. Although largely fiction it gives a very accurate idea of the early lives of Wellington and Napoleon.

The first in a series that is excellent as Historic Novels go. The book came on time, was handled well and was a good experience as well as getting what I was looking for to complete my series. It is an older publication but the first so I did not want to read the rest of the series which I have until I had this one. Superior writing, exciting details!

Excellent book and a wonderful insight into the early lives of Napoleon and Wellington. Though there is quite a lot of artistic licence it, and the three books that follow, are engrossing reads.

Tries to put flesh on the bones of early history by way of a story.

This is the essential reading if you are going to read the rest of the Young Bloods series. This sets the scene and assists in understanding why Wellington and Napoleon were the characters they finally developed into.The story line is gripping but not as action packed as the rest of the series this is through necessity as because this story starts with the two protagonists as young men they only saw limited action. However in saying this I found the storyline absorbing and very interesting

an excellent insight to the life's on two great men.
