Whirlpool W10518394 OEM Dishwasher Heating Element

I bought this heating element to replace a faulty one for my Whirlpool Dishwasher model #WDT710PAYM6. The element is now working and it arrived before expected date. Packing box was a potential problem as the terminal ends were poking through the box, although I noted no damage to the terminals.Two caveats:1. The element did not contain the mounting nuts and the original equipment mounting nuts did not share the same thread. I solved this by purchasing metal nuts at Home Depot. I am hoping these will not corrode, as the originals are plastic.2. Not a problem with the part, but it is important after replacing the heating element to reset the dishwasher's software. I think every model has a different procedure to do so. My new heating element did not work until I reset my dishwasher's software (this cannot be done with a simple power cycle)

When I installed it it wasn't heating. A very helpful forum explained my model Whirlpool dishwasher had to be factory reset to clear the error code. After I cleared it the dishwasher is working great.

Just spend the extra $20 or so and buy the OEM one. Doesn't come with nuts and the threads are different pitch for my model even though it is called out in the ad that it fits. Burned right through the tub. Cost a new dishwasher for $20 savings.

It didn’t fit the element was larger than my oem one and the totally different connection thread and size.

This worked perfectly for my whirlpool dishwasher. Install was simple after you pull out the dishwasher, and it saved me quite a few bucks by doing it myself.

Recieved product I’m a box that was pretty rough. Item showed no damage so went ahead with the install. Didn’t work at all. Checked install all was hooked up correctly. Tried again still didn’t work. Box was labeled as not returnable. Must be nice to be able to send defective parts and not allow customers to return the items when they don’t work. Guess I’m eating this one and buying another from another company. Buyer Beware

Threads are different so it will not work with factory nuts. I returned it in June, but have not received a refund and it is now late September.
