John Louis Home JLH-625 Standard Stand Alone Tower, Red Mahogany

I can't rave about this shelving system enough, it's just beautiful and well made and adds a little something to the whole room. It wasn't very hard to put together but it does require precise measuring as it's attached to the wall. I also had to buy two extra shelves for it, but I didn't mind because I'm just so happy with it overall.

I was very disappointed in the stand alone towers. It was not clear from the description that they came without shelves. At that point I decided to order the shelves separately.It was a nightmare to assemble the tower and the shelves. I made several trips to the hardware store. It became a team effort with my family,...we were all out of patienceand exhausted by the end. I am usually very pleased with purchases through amazon, but this was not a good experience. The towers are not worth the time and money.

Really deceiving that it shows this item with 6 shelves. Came in the box with only the two sides, no hardware, for that price I would expect the hardware. I sent it back. All of the John Louis products comes with a small amount of brackets & arms. Had to order extra of these items and cost over $120 for hardware. Come on!The system looks great & does the job for us, but a little more info in the description, would make customers more aware of what they really are getting. Better to over whelm than under perform, don't ya think?

Originally I was going to get the 16" organizer for our closets, but came across the Solid Wood Closets ones, those are much nicer and more solid looking, so I bought 2 Solid Wood Closets organizers. But I still needed a 12" tower to use as shoe rack for my wife and Solid Wood Closets does not make a standalone 12" tower so I just ordered the John Louis 12" together with 4 sets of adjustable shelves. The finish of the John Louis is not bad, but nowhere close to how nice the Solid Wood Closets look, the fit is kind of bad and I had to force a few shelves in and the wood chipped very easily. The slotted shelves are really not good for shoes since dirt will fall into shoes below so I lined every shelf with drawer liners. But for a 9 shelves wood shoe rack for around 300.00 dollars, not bad.Going back to the Solid Wood Closets, if you are looking for closet organizer, the quality and appearance are amazing for the price.

After reading the other reviews I was a but skeptical, but went ahead and ordered two of these plus extra shelves (sold separately, as stated!) as companion pieces to the John Lewis 12" wide closet organizer systems I purchased.Really glad I did! Assembled and installed fairly easily. I also got two of the wire baskets, one to hang off the bottom of the tower and one installed inside the unit on the bottom in place of a hard to reach lower shelf. Function is wonderful and I think the whole unit is really attractive when completed.It took us about a day and a half to install all the components we purchased, but we also had to do a good bit of modification to make the units fit an "L" shaped closet and fit into corners. Well worth the several thousand dollar savings we achieved by doing it ourselves instead of using the finish carpenter's bid! I've added a couple of photos to give you an idea even though I still need to install the tie rack and hang a couple shelves on "his" side.Overall, really pleased with the results, even though I did find the instructions to be a bit frustrating at times. Should be no barrier to most DYIers.

Photo in product description shows unit with shelfes, which are NOT part of the package and have to be ordered in addition. Very misleading. Photo should show what you get with your order and not what possibilities you have when buying additional shelfes. Unit just comes with left and right frame and top and bottom, creating an empty box with no storage possibilities. At least 2 shelfes should be included.
