I have used the Terro 1806 (green base with round white cover) outdoor bait stations before, and have had some success with those, but found that they either emptied, or became gummy too quickly, having only a couple of weeks lifetime before requiring some maintenance. I hoped that these Antopia stations would solve some of the issues that we had with the Terro stations. I liked that the heavy green covers of these Antopia stations shielded the bait from the hot sun, and also kept out most all other life except ants. The float design helped to keep the ants from drowning in the liquid bait. The included "gourmet honeydew" formula did attract ants, but not as heavily as the terro formula. After a couple of weeks, I emptied the stations and filled with a terro type formula and got better interest from these ants. We are in the middle of a very, very heavily infested ant area, and so far, even after 3 weeks, we have not seen a reduction in the any population near the stations, but the bait does get removed pretty quickly. We'll keep watching and refilling and see how it goes. I know that with dozens of mega colonies very close by, we may never be able to control the ant population immediately around our home, but we'll give it a few months and make adjustments to optimize the placements. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Stations function well, but the liquid bait barely attracts the variety of ants I have. *by O***N on Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2016* Bait Stations are a good design. they can be placed in areas where sprinklers and rain won't affect or dilute the liquid bait. I had high hopes that the liquid bait would attract the masses of Argentine Ants that are infesting my fruit trees, but the variety of ants I am battling barely pay attention to this formula of liquid bait. I have better luck attracting them to a sugar and boric acid mixture I make myself. I thought that the special attractant that this liquid bait has in it would work well, but in my case it doesn't seem too. Your ant varieties may go for it though. In my area of Southern California the small invasive Argentine ants have completely displaced all other varieties which I've seen over the past 30 years. ### ⭐ Doesn't seem to work on NJ carpenter ants from hell *by P***K on Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2016* I've had these set up for almost 3 weeks now. 4 around my house where I've seen carpenter ant activity outside or just outside where I've seen them inside. I check them periodically with no activity whatsoever. Today while taking some leaves away from the house I spotted what I assume is a satellite nest. Tons of ants all around a crack in large paver stone. Funny thing is, the bait station is less than a foot away from this spot crack. How is this stuff not working!?
