Awesome, well made and sharp.
Well made, sharpened up very nicely. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the fit of the bolster and end cap. The steel extends out past the wood of the handle, causing a ridge that traps debris. (in a very minor way, but still...).All in all it is a great knife, and I would purchase again. In fact I did, in that I bought the 7" chefs for my BIL and had the same complaint about the fitment, BUT it is a minor gripe and I love this knife,

I'm glad I did
Despite not having a lot of information available, I took a chance and bought it... I'm glad I did! The blade is great! It's not a elegant as some of the more expensive damascus steel knives but holds an edge well. It has a nice weight and balance to it. The fit and finish on the handle isn't perfect but it still feels really nice in my hand. I will change my review if it doesn't hold up well, but as of now, I really like it.

Good balance, not strikingly sharp
Good balance, not strikingly sharp. needs sharpening twice a week and I just make salads once a day for the two of us.Nothing spectacular. This for me was kinda high end knife. May have it professionally sharpened and then see if it behaves any different..till then this is what it is..

Very nice
Very nice knife. VG10 is a great steel I've had lots of experience with it on other knives and have nothing but good things to say about it. The looks of the blade is awesome. The handle is good looking and comfortable in hand. Comes in a nice box as well. A very nice knife you won't be disapointed

Great knife
really really nice, I was comparing it to the Miyabi...but it's actually got a higher rockwell hardness and more layers...pretty good deal therefore.

Fantastic knife for the price
I've had the knife for a couple weeks now, so far it's been great! Absolutely gorgeous, great weight, and it's holding it's edge as well as the slightly cheaper JA Henkels International 8" I picked up at the same time. The granton edges do their job perfectly, and potato slices will literally fall off either side of the knife after slicing through.A note about Ramblewood Green... It was pretty difficult to find information about this company's knvies. It appears they mostly make high end propane/natural gas ranges, while also having a small line of VG-10 japanese style knives. I impulse bought this knife and was a little apprehensive once I realized they weren't an established company, but the knife is clearly very high quality, and their customer service is top notch. The original knife I bought had a small defect (tiny crack) on the wood handle. I emailed the company right away to ask if I should get a replacement and they responded within an hour. A replacement was in the mail the next day, and it came a week later. Best of all I got to keep an use the original knife until the replacement came!I'll update in a few months time once I've had a chance to really put this thing to use.EDIT (8/21/2014):I figured rather than give my own experience, I would give that of my brother, who is a professional chef and has used the knife I bought for him 10+ hours a day for several months. He says his ramblewood is one of the nicest knife in the kitchen, and every time he sets it down it gets snapped up by someone else. Holds an edge extremely well, very comfortable, "but like another thing I hold in my hand every day, I wish it was a couple inches longer." He was blown away when I told him how much the knife cost... He was thinking more in the $200 range for the performance he was getting.I reach for this knife every time I need to cut something. My Henkels has been collecting dust, and the only time it gets use from me is when my girlfriend beats me to the ramblewood. A couple passes on the ceramic rod every couple weeks is all I've needed to keep this thing razor sharp.
