Pro ASP.NET SignalR: Real-Time Communication in .NET with SignalR 2.1

I have been reading this book up to Chapter 7. So far all the examples are very good and I am able to follow and try the examples in these chapters. But I got stuck in Chapter 7. I was trying to build the "Mono SignalR Server" using monoDevelop as described in page 171, but I couldn't get it work. The function app.MapSignalR() is not called at all. I noticed that the reference Microsoft.Owin.Host.SystemWeb is not included in the example, and after googling for days I believe that it is required to call that function. But if I include it I will get the exception "Method 'HttpApplication.RegisterModule' not found.". I wonder if the authors, Keyvan or Darren, can help me out on this. Thank you.

This book is poorly organized and poorly written. It's pretty obvious that English is the author's second language as sentences are often constructed incorrectly. (Where was the editor?) You're better off reading information on the internet and simply working through the examples available there.

The book is okay. The only problem it's not intuitive, and very hard to follow.
