Toyota Genuine Parts - Element Sub-Assy, Ai (17801-0P051)

Although the Amazon description shows 10.6 x 10.4 x 2.8 that is the size of the Toyota carton this filter comes in. The actual dimensions of the filter are 9.5 x 8.75 x 2.0 inches which is exactly the size of the filter box in the 2015 Toyota Highlander and 2016 Toyota Avalon. Probably other Toyota years and models, too. The 2 filters I ordered both show " Toyota Denso 17801-OP051 Made in USA" and were packaged in "Toyota Genuine Parts" red and white boxes. Tons cheaper than the local dealership. A great value from Amazon.

This order was for an engine air filter. The original part number for this filter was 17801-YZZ11. At some point it was changed to 17801-0P051 (or possibly vice-versa, not sure which superseded which). This merchant lists the part # as 17801-0P051 in their description. No problem, I ordered it. Open the box and the part # printed on the actual filter element is 17801-YZZ11 while the box has 17801-0P051. Again, no big deal. They are one and the same. My issue is the Amazon box that it was packed in was pristine upon arrival. When I opened the box, the Toyota box that the element was in, was crushed like it was ready for recycle and then they stuffed an element inside of it. Fortunately the element was not damaged, but why the garbage Toyota box? That tells me they packed a damaged box to send me my order in. Not very professional. I pay PREMIUM prices for TOYOTA OEM because I believe in the product. I should receive PREMIUM merchandise. Don't know if Amazon is pulling damaged product from their shelves to fill orders or what the deal was? Will never know. Yes, I deducted a star for that.

Product/Engine Air Filter is a Fine Product however box had a crushed end which, at 1st glance, would surely yield a crushed filter on the 1-end but fortunately was not & filter was un-scathed. I will purchase again when req’d via Amazon.

This is a genuine OEM part. Excellent filter and top-notch quality. Made in the USA.
