Disappointed but it's lovely yarn
Really beautiful yarn, but nothing like the photo. I, for some stupid reason, assumed the seller had put a photo of the actual item, since this yarn is different from lot to lot. I was wrong. What I got is lovely, but I wouldn't have bought it if I'd realized how different it was. This colorway is very similar to skeins of Arco Iris from the same manufacturer. Definitely worth having, but only if you are ok with a surprise when you open the box. I bought this specific color, as shown in the photo, as a treat to myself and I should have known better. 😥Without any nylon or acrylic, this yarn does not wear as well as other sock yarns. You can expect a pair of regular socks to get holes within a year. So either use this for something other than socks, or keep your socks for special occasions only! It knits up beautiful and soft.

Spectacular sock yarn
Received this yarn in a timely manner. I’ve used malabrigo sock yarn before for hand knitted socks. The colors are spectacular. This colorway looks to be the best yet.

No-dye lots. But beautiful and soft
A lot darker than the picture (I knew it wouldn’t be exactly like the picture-no dye lots). But beautiful and soft!

Beautiful yarn and easy to work with
I bought this yarn from WEBS and am writing this review of the product without any kind of "incentive" by a seller for a product review. The reason I'm writing this review is because it's the first time I've used it, and it's for my first pair of socks ( after my practice sock) so my review is honest and from the perspective of a novice knitter without knowledge of "yarn verbiage".It came in a tightly twisted hank that was easy to hang on a chair corner and ball up, though with it's 440 yards it took a whole episode of Shetland to do it, especially with my cats trying to , um, help me.Almost done with my 2x2 ribbing, and once I let go of my terrified death grip on the yarn and needles, and relaxed a bit, the knitting has become easier . My trepidations are caused by my inexperience and the whole sock knitting fear, not because of this yarn, which is so easy to knit with. The yarn is very soft, a joy to my arthritic fingers. I've had to un-knit a couple times and didn't have any problems going back to find my incorrect stitches ( the stitch definition is very clear- no fuzziness or halo), the yarn does not split or stretch out, it just glides onto my needle like it knows where it has to go and how to get there. The colors are lush and rich.I'm still getting used to double pointed needles and am working with size 2 needles for the first time, some kind of dyed wood, and worried that my first attempt using these microscopic toothpicks in a sock weight yarn would be a nightmare but I've been pleasantly surprised with the ease of working with this yarn. I'm using "Marly Bird's First Sock" pattern and watching her 6 part sock series. I believe I may have an actual sock when I'm done. It might take me 20 years to finish, with yarn and needles this small, but apparently other people do it in less time.
