We decided it would be fun to get them a set of their own gardening tools and a few books about gardening and how plants grow etc… We feel it’s important to teach them the science and how nature works in regards to gardening so we bought this book as well as the children’s book, Just Call Me Honey. We wanted them to learn about how bees are vital to gardening and we wanted them to not be fearful of the critters and bugs that could be in the garden. The book lays out the reality of gardening and how sometimes it doesn’t go as planned but it’s so worth the effort to keep at it! These two books are fabulous at introducing these concepts! Our grandchildren have read the books, they tell everyone about the plants, pollinators, the ups and downs of gardening etc… We have planted flowers that attract the bees and we have planted many vegetables too. They also have a few house plants that we propagated from some of mine and they’re in their house just like the original plant that Chip bought for Joanna. Lol, they have learned to not water the plant to death like the poor plant in the book!
