**Q: Does it cut wood**
A: Hello, the big shot will cut balsa wood, leather, cork, stock paper and many other items but I'm afraid it will not cut thru wood other than balsa.

A: Hi, Yes, this machine when using the Thick Cuts will cut paper, sponge, rubber, magnet and fabric.  It is compatible with Thin Cuts, Easy Emboss and Thick Cuts.  The Big Shot Beginner's Kit comes with the Big Shot, 1 pair of Cutting Pads, Spacer Platform, 1 Thick Cuts, 2 Thin Cuts, 1 Easy Emboss and Paper.  It is recommended for Ages 14 and up. I like the die casting and embossing machine, having fun with it, but it did not come with a platform. After buying theplatform and cutting plates, it was really not the bargain I was anticipating.
