Went way too fast
My 2 year old daughter is a HUGE fan of How to Train Your Dragon. This Christmas we got her several dragon toys and this book. I know some 2 year olds don’t sit around for books, but my daughter is pretty good about it if the book is based off a movie she likes. She does stay till the end of this book but only because I sum up the page. Now to get on with the book itself. The main thing I don’t like about this book: it goes through the story way too fast and skips a few things, like the multiple attempts Hiccup had with making the perfect saddle and flying.Cons: besides how quickly the book ends, there are not enough pictures. We have two versions of Frozen, a big golden book and a small one. My daughter never sticks around for the small one because it doesn’t have enough pictures and skips a few things. Same with this. There is way too much wording with each picture. The pictures themselves are fine but I would prefer pictures from the actual movie.Pros: the pictures are recognizable so any child knows who and what is shown. It doesn’t last too long so a child won’t get bored. I haven’t seen many options for a How to Train Your Dragon book so if this is the only one then that is a huge pro.Over all my daughter is happy with the book. But if they ever come out with a big golden book edition (or if I find it if it already exists) then I doubt my daughter will care for this one.

Solid Little Golden Book adaptation of a great movie
The Little Golden Books are great for 2-year old toddlers when they start to get bored of board books and want more story, but still don't have the attention span of an older kid. Like all other Little Golden Books, the story was condensed into the "little" format and the artwork matches the Golden Book style. My wife and I love the movie, and we felt this was a good adaption of the story for a super young audience. For us, this was a great way to introduce our daughter to the story without sticking her in front of a TV for 90+ minutes.

Accurate but wordy
My 3 year old would give this a 5 but I took a star off because it’s wordy. Sticks to the storyline but wish they’d either spread the paragraphs out or use less words. Kids can only focus for so long on words they don’t know lol thank goodness for cute pictures

Great dragon story
This is so cute! Just like the movie but shortened! Great pictures and loveable story line. I would definitely recommend this book. My son is 3 and he loves this movie. This book isn't scary in my opinion and is appropriate for 3+.

Lovely illustations
My son has told me to give this 5 stars! He absolutely loves it. Nice simple language and for pre readers, great for word recognition. We have a number of these Golden Books are they are very well done.

Not good enough quality for the price
If you are looking for the Treasure Cove books, these are not a quality replacement. For the price (£4.75) it is not good quality - it is not well bound, it is not a hardback but merely cardboard covers and it is poor quality printing on poor quality paper. A lesson learnt for me - don’t make purchases when tired!

Good, cute book =)
Only one thing; Astrid never made fun of or ridiculed Hiccup. Two things XD Hiccup was telling his Dad that he wanted to do dragon training, but changed his ming mid conversation =(
