Very disappointed. :(
I was so excited to get this unit. I used the mixer and everything worked great. When I tried to use the Cooking element, I got an E6 error which is not in the manual. I did some Googling and it's a manufacturing defect. I called DeLonghi and I would have to send the unit to them for repair. I'm not happy to spend $1000 on a unit to it already needing to be repaired. Ultimately I decided just to return it. It's way too expensive to risk it.

Scatches on machine
Unfortunately this product arrived damaged due to poor packing. I tried to contact Amazon with no result.Machine seems to work okay but shakes a little when kneading dough.

Nice all in one appliance
Has very good cooking applications. The stirring while cooking is the reason I purchased it and having all my appliances in one place saves space.

Consumer Report Review
The Febuary 2014 issue of Consumer Report gave it a DO NOT BUY rating. As CR is my bible on most things, I'll go with their rating.

Literally the cats whiskers!!
I am utterly delighted with my Kenwood. I've waited a very long time to have one and every time I use it it's an absolute pleasure. Robustly made and well thought out I cannot recommend it highly enough.I could list in minute detail all of the features but everything it does with consummate ease!

Do The Knobs Still Break Off?
Okay, time to fess up--this is a recounting of my earlier experience with a Kenwood mixer, but because of that experience I am skeptical. I really liked most things about it. The 7 quart bowl was excellent. It was powerful. It was easy to use. But after only about a year, it began to have drawbacks. First, the coating on the body began to peel off. Still functional, but not so attractive anymore. But the next thing was what finally sent it to the trash. The control knob--which looks exactly like those on this new model--broke off at its stem. I replaced it twice, at a very hefty price. When it broke a third time, I decided I needed to invest my money in a different mixer. I've been using KitchenAid since, and recently upgraded to a 7-quart bowl. I miss being able to lift the head of the mixer, but there will never be a knob breaking, and it is powerful enough to manage gluten free dough for 4 loaves of bread. Maybe Kenwood has redesigned and strengthened the knob. If not, you're in for a costly disappointment.

Semi-automated Kitchen in a Box: Very Complicated to Use
This is an extremely complicated and expensive "Kitchen in a Box". Basically it combines food processing and cooking tasks, so you do not have to stand and stir items like risottos, indian curries etc. From blending smoothies, to steaming vegetables, to mixing cake batter to cooking and stirring your soups and eggs, this baby rocks. It is very sturdy and well made. The machine comes in so many pieces and with so many attachments that I have not even counted them. Additional pieces and accessories can also be purchased: pasta maker, meat grinder, mill, etc. There is no box to store all pieces. But it comes with only one bowl. Cooking Chef is big in size and will not fit on most under the cabinet counter tops, we have it on kitchen island. There is a steep learning curve and you need to read the manuals for sure but I would recommend watching several YouTube videos from Kenwood, Williams Sonoma etc. to get a feel for what this machine can do and how to use it.You need to be able to afford this expensive Rolls Royce of kitchen gadgets; have patience to read the user guide, manuals and recipe books; have enough room and a kitchen island to keep this big piece of equipment on; be organized to store multiple pieces of this equipment; and most of all, love cooking enough to invest all money, time and energy to use this very complex cooking chef. This is not for an average person or gadget weary!
