This is the sweetest dog story and very well done. A heart warming experience for all ages. Really portrays a dogs love for his human.

Far Better Than I Expected
After renting it on Netflix, I went right to Amazon and bought it. I admit I love dogs, though I don't own one currently. But this film managed to avoid being too cute, while capturing the essence of how a dog really feels with excellent narration, rare in this type of film, and quite funny and touching. I also then watched "A Dog's Purpose", which preceded the above film, and it too was very good, but I liked "A Dog's Way Home" better. Excellent for all ages, and not insulting to adults.

Heart warming story about overcoming obstacles
This is a heart warming story of a lost dog who fights their way over many obstacles to find their way back home to their person. Along the way, she befriends a pack of dogs, rescues a stranger caught in an avalanche, and becomes the "mother cat" to an orphan baby mountain lion. There are some scenes that may be too intense for young children (e.g., an avalanche, as well as a pack of wolves hunting the dog and her mountain lion friend). But otherwise this is a great movie for older kids (e.g., my daughter is 12 and loved this movie). The main canine role is played by a rescue dog. The producers specifically rescued Shelby from a shelter to play the role of Bella in this movie. Shelby is now a therapy dog helping others.

A Dog's Way Home Captures Your Heart
I loved this movie. A young Bella is taken away from her boy Lucas and she must find her way home again. In the wilderness, Bella befriends Big Kitten and takes care of her. The bonds between animals and the bonds between animals and humans are explored in this movie. A happy ending for all in the movie. Just keep some Kleenex on hand as this movie will tug at your heart strings. Highly Recommend.
