Cute, fun, and worked okay, but the frame scratches the mirror.
This was a little hard for me to master, and harder for my 8 year old. My 10 year wasn't real interested in it. At first it was hard to slide the mirror to reveal the place to put the "silk", but once we moved it back and forth a bunch of times it was sliding more easily. But, unfortunately, we then realized that every time it slid back and forth the mirror was being scratched by the plastic frame. For the price, I still like it for a younger kid that wants to perform a "magic" trick, but then that same young child may not be able to get the mirror to slide down. With it being a cheaper item I don't mind it getting scratched up since that's what I expect to happen with most of my kids' stuff anyway, but it was a little disappointing for it to happen within our first few minutes using the item. It will still work and look OK if my son does the trick at a distance rather than up close to his "audience". I received this item at a discount in exchange for my honest review. My son still enjoyed using it and is having a great time with it, so overall it's a win. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Didn't work
Unable to slide the secret hole into position, even with lots of force, let alone with one thumb. Also, the "silk," which is nylon, scratched the mirror. Otherwise, the product seemed sturdy.

Fun, portable, and easy to master, this is a must-have for both new and established magic buffs!
My youngest son is in his early 20s now. He started performing magic tricks in the 3rd grade and by high school he had a street magic act down cold. Each Christmas Santa would load up his stocking and his spots under the tree with gimmick upon gimmick upon gimmick and the rest of the family could pretty much depend on being in turn, amused, awed, and irritated throughout the rest of the cold weather months. Recently I received the Magic Makers Silk Through Mirror gimmick at a promotional cost in exchange for an evaluation and review, I was excited: this was one magic trick that I had never seen done. My son spent about ten minutes reading over the directions and practicing holding the mirror and completely mastered it. He did the trick four times in front of me and I had no idea how he was doing it ~ and considering I’ve had 14 years of living with every street magic, stage magic and close-up magic gimmick on the market, that was pretty impressive. Each of the four times that he did the trick that day, he handed me the mirror AND the scarf after the trick and let me examine them, and each time I was stumped. He eventually gave me the instruction sheet that came with the gimmick and I was determined that I too would be able to amuse, awe, and irritate my family members! It took me a little (lot) longer than it took my kiddo to get proficient at the hand work but after 2 days of practicing, I finally got it! This is a fun trick with a neat design that is fairly easy to master (I’m a klutz and I rock at this one after only two days). I love the fact that the gimmick is small enough to tuck in my purse (I’m not limiting my ability to be amusing and irritating to just family anymore, I can take this anywhere). Nice work Magic Makers!

Simple and Easy
I have always been slightly into magic and now that I have a daughter I would like her to get into it too. I figured I would start with some simple ones like this. The trick will be very easy to teach her when she gets older and it comes with directions too. I can't wait for her to be able to do it on her own. Until then I have a simple and easy trick to do to her.I received this product in exchange for a review.
