Rothco G.I. Type D-Cell Flashlight (Black)

The one I had as a kid was metal, this one is plastic. No problem, just wanted it for nostalgic purposes, but it works. Two “D” batteries, and it’s not very bright, but, they’re not meant to be. Just light your way, not show up the valley. But very durable feeling, I like the extra space molded in for the extra lenses, nice feature.Overall, I’m very pleased with it and for under $15, great value.

Good for the price point. Paid about 12 bucks for the flashlight. Mainly bought it because I don’t have an old school light/ non-LED flashlight. Old school lights like these are supposed to withstand an EMP because they have no circuitboard like LED lights do. The light itself is plastic and not very bright. But it will get the job done. I like the red, blue, green, and yellow lenses that it came with and they are easy to change out. I would purchase this again!

Nor does it pretend to be. It is all plastic. It is really cheap so good value. it is not bright like.. well.. the originals. You used to be able to buy these things surplus for cheap but those days are gone. What I did was put in a cheap LED bulb and that transformed the thing. at least 3 times brighter. And... will be easier on the batteries. It comes with extra lenses... most useful is the red one. won't kill your night vision. the switch looks like the original but is not. it is either off or on. The original had a button to hold it in the on position otherwise it was a momentary switch. A very useful feature this one lacks

Very functional. Slightly smaller than the vintage one I already owned from the military, but all of the parts transferred over to my vintage one, which is what I wanted in the first place.

bought this purely for the nostalgia value, i miss the way flashlights used to be warm and soft before bright aah leds took over, it emits enough light to comfortably see by in an average size room of an average household. the little color filters work better with this light than they do with more modern leds.

The media could not be loaded. I have never given a bad review, but here’s the first ever. Was super excited when this came in. But was disappointed severely!!! If I could give it negative stars I would. I understand every product has a dud, but I haven’t had one of these since I was a kid playing with my dads when he came home from the Marines. I played with that thing until it finally just gave out. This one doesn’t work. The switch and connectors are loose. When switch is completely on, the light doesn’t come on unless you push the strobe button. Super disappointed!!!

Carried one 30 years ago. Basic issue. Quality, great product !!
