Great as a mid-layer on extremely cold days.
I purchased the HH day breaker as a mid-layer for a ski trip to Banff. The temps hit a high of -30 due to an attic blast. I wore a compression base, a second base layer, this Helly fleece, a puffer jacket along with a shell over everything. Along with the proper bottom layers, gloves, and face protection, I was warm and never got even a slight chill. Last year I wore the same layers minus the Helly fleece. Great mid-layer, comfy, and proper fit. I am 6’0, 173 and wear a large. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the zipper can be a bit finicky if you don’t hold onto the fabric when you first zip it up. Otherwise, the fleece performs perfectly and is extremely warm for its lightweight polartec feel.Definite buy!

Very soft and warm.
Looks good new and fits well. Jury is still out on the laundering result. It was a gift and I hope the quality matches the durability of the now 7 year old jacket my husband owns.

Very warm jacket
Very nice material and great for cool evenings as an inner jacket with another jacket too if it's cold

Nice and light but backwards zipper and mesh pockets
This is a really nice jacket, super lightweight but pretty warm. Size L fits a tall slim guy pretty well which is nice (not too bulky around the belly). But for eighty bucks there are two things that I'd expect to be different: 1.) the zipper is EU style (I'd expect a right-hand zipper for a jacket sold in the US), and 2.) the pockets are lined with that mediocre mesh which tends to snag and isn't as warm as a solid fabric.

A Great Value if You Buy Right
I love this product. It is synthetic polartec with a tighter weave so I find it warmer than heavier weight polartecs. I bought it for an underlayer and got a size smaller than I would typically wear. If you want it as an overlayer, you probably want your standard size. The accompanying sizing chart by the product pictures is accurate in my experience. This thing fits like a glove and will take a top layer (a light waterproof jacket or another warmer layer like a cardigan). I don't think you could walk in the woods with this exposed because it is lightweight and tight woven - it would likely snag easily.Just make sure you know how you want to use it and you will get the value of the expense. This thing is not cheap.

A nice sweater that is poorly made
Great light sweater, but the craftsmanship is lacking and quality control is non-existent. We purchased this sweater because I needed a very light weight sweater for around the house. The first sweater had threads hanging from the right sleeve which was unraveling from the first day I wore it, we returned it and the replacement had the exact same problem. This time, I am just going to keep it and put up with the crappy sewing, but will likely not purchase any Helly-Hansen garments again due to their lack of quality control.

My favorite fleece!
Bought this and it’s so comfy, warm and lightweight. Perfect for traveling and hiking. I am now obsessed with the brand.

A shirt you won’t want to take off
These Helly Hansen fleece zip ups are so comfortable and warm. This is my second one. They are quality made and last a long time. Still wearing my first one after three years of a lot of use. Just starting show signs of wear and the sleeves near the wrists are starting to stretch as I like to pull up my sleeves.
