Johnstone's Woodcare Indoor Wood Varnish - Clear 750ml

Have used previously on internal oak doors and was happy to use again. It dries very quickly allowing several coats in one day but you need to work fast. Gives mid-sheen finish, but more coats deepen shine. Will not darken the wood significantly, so if you want the richness of an oil this may not suit you. We wanted a lighter finish so was spot on. Seals the wood and can easily be touched in if required. One door that was accidentally scratched now looks perfect again. Seems durable, used on wood over ten years ago and the finish is still perfect.

Picture shows colour from natural wood to medium oak. Small tin will probably need to buy another. Goes on nice but make sure brush out any un even bits and will dry darker in put on thicker. Does look a nice colour. Took well over an hour to dry however.

Varnish bought to apply to tired bedside tables. I purchased the 'clear gloss' version. When opened, the varnish was white in colour and had the texture of PVA glue. I was dubious but went ahead and applied. Once first coat was dry, I applied the second coat.Very happy with results - the varnish is not too shiny and has a more of a slight sheen/shine that looks lovely and natural. Top stuff coverage is excellent stain colour looked a bit off when I first opened the tin but goes on so well and dries a lovely colour of mahogany which I have covered a competitor’s after flaking a bit after some years, very happy with this

Fast delivery. The clear varnish has low odour and relatively short drying time, however you need at least three coats to get the desired good final result. I had to apply 5 coats on my untreated table to get the shiny effect that I like for my table. The brush can be washed by cold tap water after each use.
