Is this station compatible with western digital ide hard drives?

Unless your WD is itself non-standard then it will be compatible. I have used this with WD SATA and Samsung & Seagate IDEs. The trick is to first plug in the drive, then power, then connect USB. Do this in reverse and your drive may get fried.

Is this station compatible with a 3.5 IDE drive from windows 98 pc

Yes it is. It has both the old type 3.5 inch pata eide drive connection and the Sata connection. One of each. I use old hard drives Inc a drive I used to run Windows 98 on. Its just a big adapter that connect to the USB on your PC/Phone/Smart TV etc. Absolutely brilliant. Just make sure you line up the hard drive with the correct fitting the right way round.

Does it come with a power supply?

Yes this product comes with it’s own power supply and USB to USB cable. I was very happy with this product as I was able to transfer all of my files and pictures from 3 old hard drives. BUY IT!! but make sure you order the right one for you (there’s one that takes SD cards and one without).

Where do you download the software for this? all i get from the official site is a program called pcclone? so fro now this is useless...

If you google AI-ORB it should bring up a download page. I'm pretty sure this is the software I downloaded as the date and file type (zip) is right. I had a problem unzipping it but once I had it loaded OK. Since the last windows update though I have lost the drive letter and so far haven't got my PC to recognise the drive.
