I purchased this as a beginner and let me tell you I am blown away by its accuracy. It does what it says and more although it does not have headphones or anything you don't really need them because it is spot on if you read the book and know what to listen for for the types of metals you will be very pleased that you purchased this metal detector.

Used this to find property line pins. Easy assembly and includes carry/storage bag of want to take apart to reduce size of storage.

Bought it as a Xmas present for our 10 year old son. Proved to be a fantastic idea as he goes outside (usually with friends) quite often now as opposed to playing video games most of the times. In Holland we managed to find 29 bullets (military training area), a pocket knife, coins, key's and whatnot.This detector works perfectly.I worried about many false alarms but we didn't have one until now. If the alarm goes off, we always find something.You start on all-mode, with the alarm going off on anything related to metal. After that you choose 'SENS' mode which should allow you to determine what kind of metal caused the alarm to go off. However this 'SENS' mode doesn't work very well, often peeping on all 3 modes (3, 12 and 9 o'clock). After some time we decided to skip that mode because when detecting something it's more advisable to dig than to discriminate on what you want to find.We didn't find anything of value yet but in the end the law of statistics is gonna catch up :)We're back in Hong Kong now; eager to continue the search.In this price category absolutely recommend this Allsun metal detector.

Purchased to give as a Christmas gift for a 15 yo and he was thrilled! Great gift for a responsible teenager, willing to learn about the hobby.

I received the item on Sunday, March 15. I put the metal detector together today and added brand new AA Batteries. The rubber washers mentioned in the User Manual were not included. The display comes on and shows the batteries are fully charged. It will not make any sounds when I placed many different types of metal, like nails, nickels, dimes, pennies, quarters and aluminum springs under the detector.

I bought this a while back,, I decided to get another one it is a great analog detector if you're into meter detectors this detector is not for you you have to listen to the different tones on this machine,, It has excellent recovery speed that's one of the reasons why I decided to get it again The detector is a little front heavy but it has the strap on the arm cuff which helps swing it easier,,The detector will detect coins up to 8 in deep,,, The reason why I didn't give it more stars is because Amazon needs to be more careful when shipping their items the box it came in wasn't even taped and the parts of the detector were kind of loose inside ,,they weren't even strapped in properly ,,luckily it didn't seem to be any damage to the detector,,,

Could be much better. I got this thinking it showed real promise,but unfortunately I was mistaken. Yes,it can find metal,but as far as discrimination it fails miserably. The pinpoint does not hold on a target . The photo on the cover of the owners manual shows a numerical readout on the faceplate( see the photo). There is no numerical readout. To me this is false advertising and deceptive . I returned the detector.
