Great solution if you want self-winding.
I decided to get a self-winding watch as I had heard that battery-driven watches can affect your health due to their electromagnetism.I have owned several Seiko watches over a lifetime and have yet to actually wear one out. My preferences change before they need replacement. This watch is self-winding, attractive, easy to read, has a date calendar, is waterproof, light and fits well. It does have luminescent markers, although I might them a bit brighter for truly dark conditions. All said, this watch is an incredible product for the money.

Great watch with budget Price!!
I owned guess watch, Skagen, Timex and Kenneth Cole, All of them are Quartz Movement. This is my first time user for automatic watch and I really love it.Adjustment for watchband is quite tricky. You have to google with the word "How to adjust Seiko Watchband" to find out about that. Luckily, I also bought watch repair kit, It is not that hard process at all.Weight of the watch is not that heavy comparing with my 10-years old Guess watch, However, it is a bit heavier comparing with my Skagen. But you can't beat 5x.xx dollars for automatic watch, even if Warehouse price at costco!!Illuminated dial also a good feature, I would not ask for more from this price. (BTW, Price Tag in package is $185.-)

This is a great “everyday” watch
The media could not be loaded. I have a lot of high-end watches. This is one of my favorite every day watches that goes with everything and is a throwaway watch at the price. Not worried about damaging it. It is absolutely well worth the price point.

Fell short of my expectations
This watch fell short of my expectations considering the M.S.R.P. is in the $300 range. The watch body itself is okay, but would be thinner and lighter if the back was made from metal, and not glass. That being said, it is a novelty being able to watch the gears tick away, so that may be appealing for a few minutes until you actually decide to wear it.For me, the real disappointment is the cheap wrist band. It is made of stainless steel, but it's rolled and folded metal, not solid cast metal which means:1) the edges where it rubs against your skin are a little sharper, therefor less comfortable, than a cast metal watch.2) the links are not connected with pins, but with folded metal pieces. To adjust the length of the wrist band you have to bend apart the links with a screwdriver and force it back together - not a problem if you're handy with tools or don't mind getting this done by a jeweler.3) all the nooks and crannies of the folded metal will eventually accumulate dead skin and sweat, causing the watch to smell funky (trust me, I've had metal watch bands like this before). This is difficult to clean since the dead skin is burried deep within the wrist band. Also of note: Mr. Watch shipped my watch with a cheap blue plastic case (not the nice one shown if that's what you're expecting) and there was no owner's manual. Any warranty work requires a $20 fee plus shipping charges. So, if you're buying this watch deeply discounted like I did, expect to get a nice watch with a cheap band.

Great value
This watch is definitely a great purchase. I'm very happy with the way it looks and keeps time. The watch keeps going for quite a while when its not being worn (better than another kinetic watch I own). I agree with another reviewer that the links are a little scratchy when first being worn, but you can barely notice and I'm sure it'll be worn down/smoothed out over time anyway.

Old School!
This watch reminds me of a Vietnam-era Seiko stainless automatic I had several years ago, and it's a great deal for me just from that standpoint. This is a watch for folks who like "real" watches. It's about the most inexpensive way you can get into a new automatic. It's honestly heavy and clunky, the band catches on everything, and it's hell on the wrist when using a computer keyboard -- and that's all >good< stuff. The clear back is a joy.It doesn't keep as good time as a more expensive automatic or a cheap quartz, for that matter, but that's easily manageable. If I want to-the-second timings, I'll look at the app on my phone. This watch gets me to the office and to the kids' school stuff just fine.I only have one quibble that's not the watches' fault: I would have preferred a more waterproof (suitable for the pool and shower) over water "resistant" (confirmed by checking the codes on the back).Yeah, I'd buy another one. Probably will.
