I started fishing again as an adult over 30 years ago, but it only recently occurred to me that a curved-nose pliers might be useful, especially so I could see what I'm doing trying to remove hooks from fish (duh!) These seem very sturdy but not too large or heavy. No flex, even at the curved tips. Also good for picking up small items out of tackle boxes, and crimping split shot. Don't know how long they'll last, but at this price it seems moot. (I'll still keep my hemostats for more delicate work.)

We used these right away and it’s long enough to easily access hooks. It’s comfortable to hold and very sturdy. We even used it to break something in half because we didn’t have scissors. It definitely is useful and comes in as a great backup to help for other uses.

These have sufficient length to get down into the throat of a large fish to dislodge a hook. They are well made and worth the money if you fish a lot. I highly recommend them.

The KastKing C: 5'' Accusplit pliers are the best I have found for small split rings. I have been experimenting with building cat toys because my F3 Savannah cats have destroyed every toy that is readily available. I am now using 50 lbs. monofilament line and 72 lbs. swivels because everything less fails in the first hour of play. However, I started down at 10 lbs. and the C:5 has been the best among the 6 different pliers I have tried. The shallower angle of the spike creates a larger separation on small rings. They are well made and the cutter is also effective.

So the good first, ergonomically they are a good fit. The tips are well designed for fishing. Out of the box, it is obvious the machine is sub par and you have to work them back and forth and they never really feel smooth. I even tried lubricating the joint with WD-40 and it made no difference. They function just fine and I will keep them. There are cheaper options available from your local tackle shop. One suggestion, I wish it has some way to tether it to my tackle bag.
