Old school and works great! Adjustable light and easy to grip. Glad that it uses batteries and is not one of those rechargeable flashlights, as has been my experience they do not hold a charge after a year or so.

I read a few negative reviews about this flashlight. They were probably written by a younger generation. This an old school heavy flashlight. It works great. I have had a couple of these over the years. I lost one and "loaned" the other one. Well worth the money. I read a review that says there is an LED bulb that works in this flashlight. I think it is bright enough with the original bulbs. I live in the country and it shines a long way off. I hope this helps you.

It was a gift

This serves two purposes. First, strong light goes the distance, (the only fault is it has a dark spot in the middle of the projected beam). Secondly, it is heavy enough and long enough to also be used, if necessary, as a self defense weapon. Perfect for my emergency earthquake kit!

Heavy like you would expect but very poor brightness even after trying a different set of batteries.

For me, the three D cell flashlight is the perfect weight. Four and five cell ones are too heavy in my experience and are unwieldy.I already had a LED bulb however and just dropped the new bulb into the flashlight. With an LED bulb, the flashlight has a duration of up to 80 hours.Not concerned with a company logo on a flashlight as long as it works.

I was looking for the same light from the 90s that my stwpdad had - this is it. Its very heavy, you could prob beat someone up with it, and ita very bright. Best.
