Quality Chunks of Meat with Brown Gravy - perfect Kibble Topper!
Merrick's canned dog food received high marks on the dog food reviewers board for quality. Previously I bought it online from a pet website but was pleased to find many of the same choices for a much better price on Amazon.I have 2 senior dogs & like to add just a little wet with their kibbles. I usually get Merricks Brats N Tots but decided to try the Steak Tips. I like getting chunks of meat with a bit of gravy so I can parse out a single meat chunk with a little gravy into each dog's bowl on top of their kibbles. That way they get the crunch & teeth cleaning benefits of dry kibbles but with the meaty 'fun' of wet. A case of 12 will last ~ a month that way (I have a 45 lb shepherd mix & 25 lb terrier mix). The other day on a pet vacation, I bought a normal can of dog food from the local grocery but the 'spamness' of the mix looked revolting - plus I had to scrap the stuff off the spoon with my finger - yuk.I prefer the Brats to the Steak Tips - it seemed like there were more meatballs in each can than steak tips. However, neither dog has complained.

Amazing!
We switched to this brand a little over a year ago and my dog LOVES it. Highly recommend from a picky poodle.

Dogue says no
I'm sure it's fine, but my dog doesn't like it.

Great food -- big problem with dented cans
Of the Merrick flavors we've tried so far, this is by far my dog's favorite. I use it as a topping for his dry food. Unfortunately, there is a continual problem with dented cans. Sometimes only a few cans are dented and sometimes almost every can is dented. Sometimes the dents are relatively minor and sometimes they are so bad I'm afraid to give the food to my dog. Whoever is packing the cans into the 12-pack packaging has to be selecting dented cans and packing them that way because the packaging has always been fine. Not sure if it's Amazon's fault or Merrick's.

For those who want to feed their pup only the best
Smells exactly like beef stew or perhaps pot roast. The meat chucks are very tender and the gravy is a great consistency. My pup, who i previously thought very picky, simplyLike a variety. He doesn’t want to eat the same thing for every meal. I am rotating between this, a couple of flavors of blue wilderness puppy andRachel ray’s wet food. He now scarfs every meal instead of turning his nose up at it. I love the ingredients, lack of grain and all natural formula. For me, it is worth the cost to feed my pup the best. Further, this is formulated for all life stages. So I can give it to my little guy without worry. If you’re like me and the quality is more important than the price, don’t hesitate to try this out.
