Great sub, good price, sounds fantastic
I originally bought the 10" version of this sub b/c I had done a poor job measuring and thought it would fit. It would just barely fit in the space on my boat, but honestly it was too big. Was scared of trading it out for this 8" version b/c I thought I would lose too much of the "oomph" the bigger sub provided. Well, I was happily mistaken. This 8" sub fit perfectly in the space available, and has more than enough punch for everything so far. It has added a dimension of listening enjoyment that was sorely missing when hanging out at the lake. This is the first summer I've used it, and I've only had it for a month or so, so I cannot currently comment on its reliability/longevity, but the sound is great, it hits hard, and everything feels great. If it broke I would buy another one, b/c now I don't know how I went so long w/o having bass represented in my audio spectrum. Good stuff.

Perfect and Pumps
I ordered the NON amplified version and could only fit an 8 inch tube in my boat's compartment. I got the 8 inch POWERED tube by mistake, but went ahead with the installation due to time restraints. I basically installed an amplifier connected to an amplifier. In any event, I was able to dial down the output directly on the tube and tweak the gain/bass adjustment on my amplifier. I was expecting to go into protection mode, but to my surprise, it worked well and the bass kicks! It was exactly what was missing (maybe not the added power), but I'm keeping it. I have a large fly bridge cruiser with an interior and exterior zone and the bass response is throughout the vessel. I would have loved to hear the 10 inch, but the 8 is surprisingly good and all I can fit. The installation is simple, even with the added power connections I didn't need. It for sure saved me the trouble of cutting away fiberglass for a sub speaker and had no room available for a kicker box.

I am happy with the quality of the unit and like I ...
Bought this to add some bass to our 23.5' Yamaha jet boat. It's running from 2 channels on a Clarion XC6610 class-D amp which says it's providing 125 watts/ch. This setup certainly provides more bass than we had before, but it's slightly less than I was hoping for. I guess an 8" sub is never going to pound as hard as a 10" or 12", but I was trying to compromise between size and sound output.Anyway, I am happy with the quality of the unit and like I said, it certainly puts out a lot more bass than we had before.....just feels like it's about 80% as much as I was hoping for....so I probably should have gone with a 10" unit instead.

Very happy with the bass
Very happy with the bass!! It fits, well, inside my engine compartment of my 220SSI Chaparral. I will try and update after quite a bit of use. The straps made it real easy to install and have held up to the abuse of the waves. Well worth the $$ for decent bass with low wattage amps.

Great sub. I power this with a Polk audio PA660 4 channel amp in my boat. I bridged two channels to produce the rms 150 watts and it sounds great. Really good design and sounds better than expected. I also run two tower Polk dB model 6" speakers off the other 2 channels on the amp and really like the overall sound for the price. Also have four Rockford Fosgate 6" speakers mounted inside the boat running on another amp. Like the sub so much that I'm thinking of getting another to really add to the system although not necessary.
