Roosebeck Psaltery Bow Mongolian Horse Hair - Walnut

Best psaltry I’ve had
When my bow broke (my fault) I tried this one... as much as I liked my other bow, this one is far better. The number of hairs are greater (twice as many so twice the width ) and the resulting sound was amazing. (I know it wasn’t me that suddenly got better!) I also like the slightly greater height from hairs to bow in the middle: that geometry results in a louder sound while maintaining the haunting/lingering nature of the psaltry chords. Like it so much, buying another for insurance.

Psaltry bow
I am very pleased with this bow. I would recommend it.

Nice bow
Best with Alto psaltery, lowers the tone of my soprano psaltery.

Not sure about this
Not sure if this is horsehair. Not sure how or who can re-hair it. I don’t care for the glue holding the ends.

Too loose
It definitely is capable of producing a richer and fuller tone than the cheapie synthetic bow that came with the psaltery, but the horsehair is so loose that it takes a lot of effort to make a sound, which is really frustrating. Probably not worth bothering with it, so I'll be looking for something better that I won't be wasting my money on.

Useless Bow
It may work for some beginners, but my daughter already plays violin and had tried out her bow on the psalter while waiting on this one. The hair was loose, no way to tighten, and glued together about an inch on each end. So this part is useless. Sending it back today. Can barely get any sound at all with this bow.

very poor quality compared to earlier Roosebeck bows.
very poor quality compared to earlier Roosebeck bows. Very thin hair, and glued ends extend into the bow by an inch on either end.I would suggest ordering directly from Roosebeck.
