Nice tool
A nice tool and cuts well. Would have preferred a slightly heavier handle as this one feels slightly flimsy in my sausage fingers.

Nice
Seems legit. I actually was expecting a plastic handle but it's softwood. The packaging makes it look like some sort of toy. It's very light altogether, and I can't say how the handle will fare over time, however my understanding is that this type of saw is only requiring light downwards pressure to cut, so the softwood handle shouldn't need to take a beating. There's always the option of making my own handle in future. Blade is very sharp - hard to perceive the special contours of the blade but I trust they are there and that it was forged by an actual samurai. You could always try buying a cheap one and just making your own handle to set it into, I will probably do that next time as £30+ is still quite dear for something like this.

great hand saw
I have found nothing to dislike about this saw, and find it a great improvement on conventional hand saws.

Very impressive
For a saw that feels very light and flimsy, this impressed me enough to buy a couple of different types of saw from this company

For clean, fine cuts
First, ryoba has to be handled with care as t is very sharp. Before you cut, position your work piece securely into a tight vice. Cut along the fibre with no pressure at all, with a gentle pull. To be used wherever you need a clean, fine cut for high-value jobs.

A must for fine sawing in picture framing
There is nothing to dislike about this saw. It took a little bit of getting used to after years of using convention saws. The draw action produces a rapid cut.The results are accurate, fine and require minimum of sanding

Excellent tools
I bought this saw for my husband for our anniversary because he has other Japanese saws which he highly recommends.

It's actually really good
I didn't know what to think about those fancy Japanese saws, but it's really good. It's less exhausting than using a regular western saw.
