Works great on 1/4" steel to elongate a hole
For starters, I am not a machinist and don't have a milling machine or any real mill experience. I needed to elongate some 3/8" bolt holes for in 1/4" thick steel hinge brackets for a wrought iron gate. Tried filing and using a Dremel grinding stone to no avail, or at least too slow progress for my patience. So I chucked this thing up in my drill press and along with a cross-slide vice created my poor mans milling machine. This tool went through that steel in no time and made clean slotted holes. I used regular drilling / tapping fluid and it was a little noisy, but I was careful to not cut too fast. In maybe 5 minutes per hole and they were now clean 3/8" x 3/4" slots and perfect for getting the gates aligned again. When finished the tool still looked and felt brand new.

Good quality cutter
I'm so used to carbide tooling that I didn't realize this cutter wasn't a carbide cutter until I looked up my past orders. I've used this in steel, aluminum, and some plastics. Seems to cut everything like butter and I've had no problems with anything getting gummed up in the flutes. It leaves a fairly smooth surface. The groves from one flute don't align to the same groove in the next flute, so you wind up with a smoother surface than you might expect. Will definitely buy more - these cost less than half of a good quality carbide cutter in the same size. Notice I said good quality. I've had some carbide endmills, bought here on Amazon, that were pretty awful.

was really impressed
this was cheaper than my vendor and quicker. had little faith it would last or work.. but was throughly impressed with its preformace it took the job I was on and was able to slot in great time with great results and it worked on a few different set up.

CUTS GREAT IN 6061 ALUMINUM! Like Butter baby!!
The media could not be loaded. So I’m making some prototypes in Aluminum. I use routers and make patten jigs in order to guide me. The trick that I have found is to use slower speeds, use a slower feed rate, and never try to take off too much. Example: With this 1/2” (.500”) bit, I find it useful to divide my bit diameter by 4 for material cutting... For this .500 (1/2”) bit divided by 4 =.125 (1/8”) . So I start from there with 1/8” deep and 1/8” material cut. Works great!I post videos on other bits, I’ve also tried.

Works well and great price

Well made
Sharp. Leaves a better bottom finish than expected. On my small mill it will take a 0.100” deep full width cut without a problem. Side milling 1/2” deep at 0.040 is no problem either.

Worth keeping in it’s tube.
I’m really impressed with this rougher. I’ve gummed up and wore out more expensive roughers on aluminum, taking smaller cuts than I did with this one. I roughed out about two inches of 1018 steel and it still looks newish and there’s no chips or dullness at all. We’ll see how long she lasts but I was able to complete a job with this no issues. I also have a 3/4s rougher from the same brand and it’s of the same quality.

Very aggressive bit for cutting.
We just got our bit in today and don't get me wrong I consider my self kind of green. But with my Grizzly Mill and lathe combo that I have in my shop and going through to date only a few sets of bits, I am say I am loving this, very aggressive cutter that for me at this time, very impressed.
