Mallomars Pure Chocolate Cookies 8 ounce box -18 Cookies Per Box- 2 Boxes

Malamar's are great cookies but I've been having trouble finding them except I found them on Amazon thank you

When I first picked up that box of yummy-looking chocolate cookies that were a bit past their expiration date in that Big Lots near my house all those years ago I didn't know what a long, strange trip my tummy would make every year when those suckers would come back in season! Every year I anxiously wait until October rolls around so I can buy BOXES AND BOXES of Mallomars just so I can eat them at my heart's content. I won't lie to you, I eat as many as I can but I buy sooo many boxes I end up giving them to friends and family as my calling card. I just bought 6 boxes last week and I only have 1 left, after having eaten 2 and given away 3!Mallomars are circular, cylindrical marshmallow cookies resting on a graham cracker base and enrobed in luscious, delicious, scrumptious REAL dark chocolate. When Nabisco says the dark chocolate is REAL they mean it, it is the real thing and anybody who is a chocolate connoisseur will tell you the same thing. The chocolate has a slight white tinge to eat because that's the grade of the dark chocolate used to make the cookies and if the cookies are as fresh as fresh could be they will be chewy and slighty crunchy as well. The combination of the flavors makes for one heck of a dynamite cookie, and I DARE YOU to find a better cookie on the market today. The only cookie that comes close is also made by Nabisco, Pinwheels, and it is strangely a cousin of Mallomars essentially being the same thing but they changed the Pinwheels formula a while back and made it worst while Mallomars formula has never changed, and is still as good as ever!They say if you don't live in New York or New Jersey you probably never heard of these cookies cos as they say 80% of Mallomars sales are in the shadow of the Big Apple but if you know what they are you are one of the select, chosen few to experience one of the greatest cookies ever made.I'm actually glad they don't make them year round cos that would take away some of their mystique and it just wouldn't be the same if you could get these anytime you wanted.

I like these cookies...they kind of grew on me after the first box. Never had them as a kid, with all the hype i read about it, i was expecting more. One of my complaints is that the marshmallow part has no goo factor...it's more of a solid texture. It's not hard or anything, it's similar to...well marshallow in a bad. I wish it was a cross between a regular marshmallow and marshmallow...just a tiny bit of goo would take this cookie over the top. Another thing is, the chocolate coating is just ok. I feel it's a tad too sweet, i like a more bitter deeper flavor in chocolate. The cookie as well was not amazing. I know i'm being a little picky here, and you have to be because these are very good cookies...it's just to get 5 stars from me, it has to have no flaws that i can point out. If i have to say to myself, hmmm i wish this was better or that was better, then it can't be a 5 star. So take this review for what it's worth, an opinion from another guy, who's actually a foodie and above all eats a lot of sweets...so it's a valid opinion.
