We got a set of service for eight when we got married. We also have several complimentary serving pieces. We recently decided to add to our set to bring it to twelve. We are coming up on our 10th Anniversary and we are still loving the dishes! The bowls have changed slightly in shape, but that just adds to the unique feeling. They are beautiful dishes, easy to spruce with accessories and splashes of color. They are durable, too. I have not been able to find the soup bowls that we bought when we were married. I highly recommend these dishes!

I've been searching for china that was exactly this color. When I first saw this china, it was too expensive and I kept searching. I wanted to be sure whatever I purchased did not scratch over time. I almost settled for another popular brand that only came in a deeper purple. Then I discovered someone else had purchased that brand and it showed scratches. Suddenly, on one of my Internet searches, Portmeirion popped up AND it was on sale! I purchased it immediately. The photos don't do it justice. The bowl and plates have a wavey effect. Very modern looking. The color is exactly as shown. Not only can they be washed in the dishwasher, but they're microwave safe and don't scratch. I LOVE this set of dishes!

I have been looking for new dishes for over a year - nothing was quite right. Then I saw these - read lots of reviews on other sites and decided to take a chance. They are beautiful dishes - love the pebble color - so nice and neutral but not white (as everything seems to be these days). The majority of reviewers said that these were great dishes, wear well and are very happy with them. Of course, you will always see a few negative reviews, but overall feedback was positive. And, although I have not yet used these dishes, they appear very durable and I anticipate having them for a very long time. Also, love all the accessory pieces available for this line.

I've had these dishes for two years now and they are holding up well. I first saw them when anthropologie was selling the pitchers and mugs and was thrilled to find out that there was a whole line of coordinating pieces. Since then, I've accumulated about 8 places settings in white, 4 in blue, and 2 in biscuit, as well as 2 salad bowls (med and small), a small oval platter, roasting dish, lasagna baker, med and small pitchers, the round platter, pouring bowl, teapot and creamer, creme brulee dishes, espresso cups, highball glasses, and soup bowls. I LOVE the way everything looks in my red and white kitchen (red walls, white cabinets). They also look stunning with iittala Kartio Set of Two Glass Tumblers in the water green and turquoise shades.I use all of my dishes regularly, as everyday dishes, and they're still in nearly perfect condition except for one chip in the rim of biscuit-colored cereal bowl, but considering that I stack my bowls in the cabinet and am not always gentle in putting them away, I think those are pretty good odds. I do not stack mugs and rims DO chip from stacking so if you're careful there, they should be fine.The blue shade is my favorite but food looks amazing against the white dishes. I'm not crazy about the biscuit but they all work well together and I get lots of compliments on these. They're classic but with a twist, made of delicate porcelain but durable, and really versatile. I wanted porcelain dishes, not stoneware, and I wanted them to be dishwasher and microwave safe. These go beyond and are also oven and freezer safe! Not that I've ever put any in the freezer but I bake and cook a lot and these have stood up to lots of use.They're also versatile in that I occasionally see a dish design that I have to have, usually at anthropologie. So I've bought random pieces here and there: dessert plates, a platter, teacups, etc. and they all coordinate beautifully with this set. They also look fabulous with an enameled cast iron pot or stainless roasting pan etc when everything is on the table. They're both rustic and classy, beautiful and simple, not too fussy, and have served me really well. I have my eye on a few other pieces and I expect these to last a long time. Also, I use the various pitchers sometimes as vases and the medium and small salad bowls make gorgeous fruit bowls!!The 4-piece place setting is probably the best value in the set, and a better deal than buying a set of 4 plates, a set of 4 bowls, etc. I love the cereal bowls and also use them for some soups like french onion (they go under the broiler really well) and chunkier vegetable soups. They're also great for oatmeal, ice cream, a bowl of berries, or even small bowls of snacks for a party. I used the bowls for olives, dips, and other little snacks for a cocktail party and it looked amazing. I use the mugs every morning and they are just lovely. They feel good in the hand and the thin porcelain rim is wonderful to drink from. The wider top does spill a little more easily than other mugs if the mug is overfilled but I either don't overfill it or just take a sip before i pick it up.

I got a few of these for my wedding, and needed a few more to complete my set. This is a great daily use set of place settings & the 4 pieces are a great start without being too much or too fancy for regular use. Sturdy & pretty at the same time. They wash well, and you can buy all types of serving platters & such that match, to turn your daily sets into fun for parties as well!

pretty but i misread the description and was very disappointed to see it was only 1 setting. So expensive!

These stylish dishes might be on the pricey side but durability alone makes them well worth the price.My only complaint is shipping. Yes they arrived timely, each 4 piece place setting in its own secure box inside the shipping box.The problem is several settings did not have the inflatable pack noodles and a few were even open upon arrival (see photo). But only 1 place setting was damaged and had to be replaced.

I'm disappointed in the quality. I originally purchased eight settings in 2009 at a Herbergers a.k.a BonTon. In the past five years a bowl and plate chipped and I broke a cup. I bought this set to replace the chipped/broken ones. I immediately noticed that they felt different and the dinner plate was smaller than my 7 other dinner plates. I think the reason the quality is so bad now is because they are now manufactured in China. To my knowledge the old ones were not. It's a shame, they were so beautiful and durable. If you are going to buy these, I wouldn't recommend buying them on here. Go to a retailer and hope you can find some of the original place settings.
