I feel like I have already written a review, but Amazon is prompting me to write one.... These are adorable & my kids love them for bath time and in general. The color change aspect is well executed & keeps my kids occupied going from hot to cold and so forth. I think we have three of this version & only a few repeats ( the ones not in the shell are repeated - I think only four to collect and each carton had two).It’s completely hit or miss how many “special” eggs you get, but you definitely get more than one. I can’t remember which color, but one of the eggs only has a color change on the accessory (e.g. surfboard) so the snimal doesn’t change which is a bummer, but I am pretty sure every hatchimal fits on it, so that’s a positive. My girls were unamused by the “gold one” which is the baby version & color changes by being dirty (one teeny tiny dirt spot). Also another version only color changes a small portion of the body ( we got one with a diving helmet & only the feet changed). I will try to update with the color codes ....I personally open the carton & give the eggs out one by one, but my kids are happy either way! I would definitely recommend!PS if you download the hatchimal app, you can keep track of their collection there.

Love these - make the perfect gift whether given as a set or as a blind grab gift! 10 of the Hatchimals are in eggs and 2 are loose in the egg tray. And a word of warning you can't hatch just 1 - nope not possible. These are highly addictive and the nice thing about Hatchimals these are not just for kids but for anyone who is young at heart.There is a nice assortment and it is as much fun hatching as it is anticipating.

So cute! These are just as described. I use them as weekly prizes for good behavior. The first one we opened was twins. The twins have little bobble heads and they are wearing crowns that cannot be removed. They did not come with any removable bling which was disappointing to my 3 year old but I talked up the rarity of the twins and she warmed up to the idea. Heads up: the eggs and some of the hatchimals have glitter on them that does rub off on your hands. That could be a deal breaker for some so I thought I'd mention it. Otherwise a very cute set with lots of fun surprises!* Picture note: we opened a purple and a pink.Edited to add: I purchased these a second time on daily deal and ordered 3. I received 2 blue and 1 green jewelry box. The two that were blue had a different assortment of hatchimals/eggs inside each.To clear up one question: the box comes with 10 eggs containing assorted hatchimals and 2 hatchimals that are not contained in eggs.If you look at the checklist, the egg color will narrow down the selection of which hatchimal can be found inside.Hope this helps!

The quality is very good and each one is unique. I use these as little gifts for my 4.5 year old daughter. I tell her, if she listens and stops unwelcome behavior, she'll get one of thee by the end of the day, and it's the only thing that works with her!! )) As she has very strong character and doesn't like to listen to me otherwise. But Hatchimals help me a lot! Now she has 2 collections already, and she spends hours quietly playing with them when she is in the mood for a quiet play. Great little gifts! Thanks!

So much fun with Hatchimals. Lower price point than in the store specially if you catch an Amazon sale.

Super cute and thankfully we didn't get any of the same mermal like others have. My four year old loves them and plays with them both in and out of the water.Not sure if they will ever run out of color changing power but so far so good, they are very entertaining!

These hatchimals were truly a mania with my granddaughter----complete with houses, beds and imagination galore. It's one of those toys that children have to KEEP ON buying to "collect them all." Of course it's a crap shoot because you never know what's inside the egg, so there will be many repeats before they hit on the "rare" or new find. Nevertheless, it has been wildly entertaining for her imagination. I notice the stores are no longer stocking reams, walls and shelves full of Hatchimals, so my guess is they're on the way out. I bought through Amazon because I couldn't find any. To my dismay, the ones I chose happen to be old stock (pay attention to "Season 1" or "2" or "3", etc.) because you'll end up getting older stock. Out of 24 (2 - one dozen cartons) she didn't get a single hatcnhimal she didn't already have. If you are new to collecting, this may be okay, but if you've been collecting for quite a while, chances are your child will by now already have the hatchimals in the early seasons.
