Beautiful pen
A beautiful pen, looks very expensive. Comes with blue and black cartridges as well as an ink piston and two nibs.Smooth lines, feels good in your hand and writes beautifully. For the price, it's a steal. Highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.

Lovely pen at an exceptional price
Arrived quickly. Also received a lovely message from the seller thanking me for supporting a family run, British company.I purchased a couple of fountain pens at the same time, my faithful old friend has been experiencing issues over the past few weeks and needs a re-tune. The pen came in a nice box which made it feel special and it looks really stylish overall. The finials make a lovely touch. I've compared this with the other I purchased at a much higher price and already feel the Dryden is leagues ahead of the other.Easy to load up with ink and writes like a dream. The only thing I notice is that it's lighter compared with some of my other pens. When I placed the cap on the barrel to give it more weight it upset the balance in my hand but this'll be personal preference. The ink flows really nicely and the nib isn't as temperamental as others when getting used to writing with it. A great pen at a great price, even better if you're in the market for a slightly lighter pen.

Lovely pen
Writes easily over the paper. No special pressure needed. Ink flows well. Love the pen. I write for hours every day & this is easy to use. Fills well & no hiccups on the way.

Lovely to write with, but neither metallic nor decadent
It's a lovely pen and just the right weight for me. No drying up, so starts from the off every time. Not scratchy, providing you hold it at the correct angle. Nice enough finish, but definitely not metallic, so not the "decadent" the supplier boasts. Good value for money, but just misses out on a 5 star review through not being as described. Not going to return it as I quite like it in spite of its solid colour.

Dryden surprise
Another addition to my collection. Unscrewing the Aluminum body to refill 'feels cheap' but the bright anodise finish is pleasant and smooth when writing. Cap 'clicks' on and off to protect the nib, but does not click onto the body and can come adrift, so I tend to leave it to one side. That then makes the pen quite 'small' in the hand and less well balanced . . . but comfortable enough. The German hooded nib (F) is very smooth and remarkably reliable - usually starting first stroke even after being laid aside for a while !! That's rare, even on far more expensive fountain pens.As with all my pens, I use it with a converter [push on - would have preferred screw fix] and fill it with Diamine ink. Please Note: I am right handed but my granddaughter who is left handed has no difficulties using this pen. This is an unusual quality. eg her Parker Sonnet has a custom 'lefties' nib(I will probably treat her the Dryden Bamboo model to take with her to University.)Pleasant enough pen at a very modest price. Perhaps a good option for left-handed writers!

Not one for the lefties!
It's a lovely looking pen and when one presses on almost hard enough to be scratching the paper beneath, it's a good writer. But I find the effort to get smooth flow from it leaves me with an aching hand - I'm ambidextrous and have experienced the same pain in both hands. It's probably worth spending a bit more if your intent on writing essays etc, for a note to the milkman - it's fine!

Beautiful pen.
Beautiful pen. Came with fine and medium nibs. Good weight and writes beautifully. Luxurious packaging, this would make an excellent gift.

Not so Brilliant!
Was 4* now 1* as despite infrequently using it half the nib snapped after 8 months use. That's the sort of time (with my usage) that the pen should have been about "run in"! Review WAS :-It's difficult to get fine nibbed pens these days on the high street (try going in to WHS and see!). So when I saw the Dryden Pens I decided to get the 'Decadent Purple' as that was the colour of ink I was going to use. On receipt (a day early) I was really pleased at the purchase. It writes beautifully, unlike some that need a period of "running in" before you get the true quality. It glides well across the paper, no snagging and is very well balanced with the pen top added to the back. For those who still believe in the art of the written word this pen is a joy to use and the weight is just right to allow extended use. A really excellent value for money pen. So why the 4*'s? Like a lot of reviewers the actual colour is not as it appears in the photo's. The pen I received was more a dark pink than Decadent Purple which doesn't fit in with my self styled macho ego :-) which is a real disappointment. The look of a writing instrument enhances the use and here, and only here, did it not find my favour. Once Dryden get this sorted I'll probably be buying one or two more.
