Q: Is 11x14 the size of the frame or the size of the pic?

Size of frame is 11X14 I would prefer a glass version of this vs. plastic however that is my preference. I guess for the price it is ok, however the artwork I wanted to display is fairly valuable and so I don't know that I would use this. I think the plastic has a static charge and so is prone to gather duct etc. and would need to be cleaned gently. Otherwise it is as advertised

Q: Is this weatherproof if used outside?

The frame itself would probably hold up outside for a little bit but since it is not sealed around the edge your picture or paper could potentially get wet.

Q: I want to use this frame for a canvas that is thicker than a photo. Would something thicker fit? Is it possible to attach a wire or cord for hanging?

You could fit something thicker than a photo by adjusting the screws. It is the pressure between the two pieces of acrylic that holds the picture in place. You potentially could hang by a wire but it may look a bit odd with the screws sticking out the back that would normally be mounted in the wall. It looks great mounted on the wall.
