Worked as expected, I replaced an old worn out ford speed sensor on my 1992 Lincoln Mark VII with AOD transmission. I also purchased a pigtail harness while I was there I figured I might as well get it right. In my case the speedo gear also had some broken teeth (spines). All done my speedometer and odometer is working,no more guessing my speed limit or using an app. I something’s forgot Dorman products have come along way since my old AutoZone days in 2003. LOL

Maybe it works?
The part looks good and installed without a problem. Took my mustang down the street and my o/d off light starts flashing again.Plugged my code reader in and it's throwing the same code for rear speed sensor bad.I'm not sure at this time if the new sensor is working or if I have other problems. I will update review and give 5 stars if it is in fact working.

Just plane did not work
I put this part on the shelf for about 3 months before I got to it. Today I put it in and it did not work. It appeared to fit just fine. Yes, I moved the gear over from the one that was removed. This should have been an easy plug and play job. Now I have to search for another part.NOTE: There are two versions. One for electronic dashboard and another for mechanical (a cable from the odometer to the transmission). If your speed sensor has a cable that enters the back of it then look for a part that shows the retaining clip at the back of the part (to hold the cable in). If you see the white plug in the back of the part, without a clip, then it is most likely for the electronic (non cable) version. Both versions of this part show up the the search filtered for the 1993 ford ranger. This part did not state if it was for cable driven or electronic driven odometer. When mine arrived it had the white plug in the back and no retaining clip. When installed the vehicle drove fine, however, the odometer and speedometerboth stopped functioning.

The new VSS had no fluid vain or sprocket I used the old one and found out the way old VSS works. Also the new VSS had no connector so I found out the Connector fails the wiggle test.
