A Great Quick Reference
I went through Michael Moore's distance learning program a few years ago, so it was no surprise to me that Los Remedios was a great book. The information is concise and helpful, and while it's not meant to be an arm-breaking laborious tome that includes every last usage of an herb, it gives me fast information on the primary uses, along with dosage, preparation, and any cautions. I'm not in the Southwest and still find it offers what I'd hoped. Any herbalist working with a Spanish speaking community will find this book indispensable, as it is organized by common Spanish names for each herb. I don't speak Spanish, but I'm able to snag the translations into English or Latin in the back. Mimi Kamp's illustrations are a fantastic addition to Moore's useful and often witty text.

Los Remedios: Traditional Herbal Remedies of the Southwest
This is a basic book about many common European herbs and some wild plants easily found in the Southwest. I was expecting something more unique, but it appears that most of the remedios will not be harmful, and probably work for most common ills, like cold or flu. It's charm is that the information is easy understood in a slim volume.

Good supplemental herb/native plant manual to add to Michael Moore's other works, especially if you are interested in plants of the west and their traditional uses.

Bad smell
This book arrived on time and looks in good shape. However, it smells extremely bad. I try placing the book in a container with baking soda for a few days but it didn't help. It's not the normal smell of an olf book. I'm talking about an extremely bad smell coming from the pages. I'm throwing this book away because of this 😡
