Cripsy display, crunchy keys and clear sound. Im sold.
First month review:I have loved every second from the last month (okay, more like 3 weeks) of using this laptop (AORUS 17 XA-7US2130SH). Between work and play, this thing has blown me away. The display and performance is amazing. I have been gaming Tarkov, Battlefield 5 and Divinity Original Sin 2 with max graphics without so much as a stutter (all while running ~50 google tabs in the background) with really high frame rates.Audio on this thing is also great, as the speakers are on the top of the laptop and are nice and loud. You will need these bad boys if you plan on gaming without headphones, however, because it really revs up the fans when under significant load. But hey, what do you expect from a machine with this kind of power? With great power comes greater cooling, as they say. If you want to game in quiet just throw on some headphones.Ok, now on to the keyboard. I was really concerned with the quality of this because the switches are first generation. I am happy to say that my worries were unfounded. You know how most gaming laptops still have lame, squishy keys? Yeah, not this guy. Every key press feels like you are snapping a candy cane in half. Not even kidding, these keys are crazy crunchy and I love it. While they are definitely audibly clicky, they are actually fairly quiet for what they are. They easily compete with the mainstream key switch producers. The next thing that comes to mind is the battery life on the laptop. It is like 2 hours fresh out of the box. I am not planning to be away from an outlet for any length of time anyways, so this is no biggie for me. However, if you are frequently away from a plug in, you might want to look elsewhere. It isn't like you could trek very far with this guy anyways, as it weight 10 freaking pounds and would probably break your back after any significant amount of time walking. I walk probably 15 minutes one way between buildings at work and it is not the most comfortable thing ever. But I knew this going in, and I think it is worth it for the power. The build quality is beyond any laptop I have ever owned. It is sturdy as hell. I really do feel like I could drop it and the components would survive (Ill let you test that one out). I can lift it with one hand on a corner and get no flex. Keep in mind that it weighs like 10 pounds, so this is saying something! It also has really cool designs all over the whole thing that makes it more aerodynamic or something like that. If there is one thing I need in a laptop it is low drag and high speed...If I had to find a con with this, it is definitely in it's included software. Specifically the Aorus Control Center. This is buggy as all get out. When I use the turbo button to crank the fans it normally won't let me turn them back down using the same button unless I go into this software and manually disable them. Half of the RGB lighting options do not even work (like I enable the preset and nothing happens). How did I fix this? Just ignore the turbo button and the preset RGB options, rather opting to control both manually. A small annoyance that you think would be fixed on a 2k+ laptop. Guess not, but easy enough to work around I guess. All in all I love this thing. I would buy again for sure and really do think this offers the best performance out of all 2070 laptops that I have looked at for a really good price. 9.5/10 (rounds up to five starts, right?)

The amazing fist bird!
Once I saw the logo of the bird giving the fist I was sold. Whoever does the marketing for Gigabyte is a genius because I went out of my way to find one purely for that and had no problems paying more for it (you do get a more quality product though.) Aside from that and having to return a DOA Dell laptop and horrible of an experience of an MSI laptop that didn't work for VR as it claimed, I struck gold here. This thing is a beast. It looks amazing, and runs great. The RGB keyboard looks amazing and being able to flip the laptop open and have the bird giving the fist illuminating at whoever ticked you off is icing on the cake. VR works great too, it does go into balanced performace by default when not plugged in but you can tweak all that. It has this Windtunnel technology you can hear and it sounds really cool and drastically boosts the performance of your laptop. BUY! Do NOT deny the fist bird!

Solid, thin and hard working
While owning this for a solid 3 weeks and so far, it is a treating me well! The GPU is great! Moving up from a laptop with a Nvidia 870m, so the performance is a lot better! Games run easily over 100fps and max out at 144fps on high settings. I have not tried the RTX settings, so I cannot speak about it.Thermals are fair, seeing games without fps settings run at the full 144 fps, so it gets quite hot, usually averaging 70-80c°. A little too hot for my tastes. The included software for the RGB keyboard and fan controls are nice to have, but that will vary on your needs. A healthy inclusion! The screen is very good, too! It works well for casual content creation, such as drawing on a graphics tablet, but for professional editing, maybe get something better. The glare is minimal, so it is good for bright room gaming.Storage is great, as it has 2 m.2 slots, which I hope to add a new one eventually and the HDD slot is ideal. Some of the downsides I am not keen, but are not deal breakers: the mouse clicks need a bit of pressure to push down on, the power button needs to be held down for a while to turn on (say 0.3 seconds?), and after updating all my drivers, I can't set the refresh rate to 60hz, which would help keep thermals down for some games that lack an fps setting in-game.It is a solid machine and it is worth it!

Great laptop! - Until now
I got mine today and I am absolutely enjoying it. Haven't quite found out yet how to boost the CPU but I'm sure I'll figure it out. I also love the ability to boost the fans to run at 100%. The battery life isn't that great but I'd recommend this laptop.Update: Have had this laptop for about two weeks and now my sound doesn't work. I haven't damaged it in anyway. As an IT, I've checked many things and nothing I've tried has fixed it.Update 2: I'd tried literally everything and it turned out I needed to install a specific software from the Control Center and it works now.

Awesome laptop!
Very powerful laptop with a lot of cool features at a very good price! Also very light and easy to travel with. If there was one con to find with it, i would have to say the speakers are not as loud and bassy like some of the other gaming laptops. I recommend buying the *SUPVIN Portable Mini Computer Clip-On Speaker* for it, which could be found here on amazon.

Loved this laptop - Sadly had to return
I loved everything about this laptop. I am a pretty big Aorus fanboy and had one of their laptops in the past. This laptop is very well made and i loved the keyboard. I wish i would've been able to use it longer but I will be purchasing a new one.I did have to return this however as i purchased it used and the battery in it appeared to be dead. I will not blame it on Aorus though as this was used and i don't know what the previous owner put it through.

Great for gaming.
So this gaming laptop is great for the value. One problem it had that was also mentioned in another review is that the sound will suddenly go out not long after you get it. You will need to download new sound drivers and update windows to fix the problem.
