Works but has a hard time charging buffer caps in equipment
It does work, and I am able to control it via the REMOTE input. However, just like Victron's 12/24V Battery protect, their 48V battery protect also has huge problems just charging the capacitors in a small unloaded inverter without thinking there's a short or over-current (when there isn't).In addition, there is significant leakage between the IN and OUT terminals when the device is turned off. So much leakage, in fact, that when the unit is turned off the voltage builds up all the way to the battery voltage and causes the inverter to try to kick-on every few seconds. I had to add a beefy 10 Kohm resistor between the output and ground to get it to stop doing that. Both the 12/24 and the 48V battery protect products have this problem. There is also no mention of whether the device has an external diode in it or not for dealing with voltage spikes from inductive loads (that would otherwise destroy the FETs).To be frank, Victron is supposed to be a high-end company. They should fix their products.

Defective item
The battery protector didn't work out of the box. Unfortunately I didn't have the other components for my system until after the return period, so I didn't know it was defective until it was too late.I hooked it up exactly as designed, turned on the power switch, turned on my inverter, and the inverter told me the voltage was too low. I tested with a multi meter and had 53.3v (lifepo4 battery) at the input lug, and only 23.4v at the output lug. Wasted money.

I find these line of battery protect to be costly and very misleading
Fire hazard, over heatingI wouldn't ever recommend to use this product in any mobile system.I've finally find another way to use this device with a double pole ac breaker that is very hard to find on the market.I use the relay to the relay on a special AC breaker to disconnect AC power from inverter to homes when voltage drop below a certain DC voltage and have it turn back on when DC voltage is where I want it to be.

Barcode says "USED - Like New"
I'm not sure why, but the Victron box this comes in is clearly marked "USED - Like New." I bought this as a NEW product...the item that appears brand new, but the box is marked used. I'm not very confident in connecting this unit to my very expensive batteries.

Just an expensive fuse
I bought two of these, one still works. Distributor's only response to the failure is that I probably installed incorrectly, although I followed vendor instructions. Useless customer support.
