NAVY G-1 Leather Jacket is an Excellent Buy and Value. Just buy your Normal Regular Size.
I am 6'1" Tall and weigh about 280 LBS. I have a big belly on me and I am 62 years old. I normally wear a size 3X, however I do have an old Genuine Military NAVY G-1 Jacket that I purchased about 25 years ago. That jacket is a size 52. It still goes on but it is a littler snug in the Belly area. I also have a A-2 Style Jacket that I purchased about 7 years ago from Kohls or Sears or someplace. That one is a Size 2XL and it still fits me pretty good. Now, because some other people on this site have said that this NAVY G-1 Jacket runs small and they recommended to get a Bigger size - I ordered a Size 4X Jacket on Saturday December 10, 2016. The jacket arrived 4 days later on Wednesday December 14, 2016. It was shipped thru the regular US Postal Mail. It was shipped in a small box that is the size of a Shoe Box. When I opened the box the jacket was packed in there nicely with a Lot of Tissue paper. The jacket did not have any Chemical Smells as some others have mentioned. There were no smells at all unless you hold the jacket up to your nose and then it smells like leather.I was Anxious to try it on to see if it would fit me or be too big. When I put the jacket on I did notice a bit of space and looseness in the chest, belly, and waist area. Although it is questionable if that amount will be enough for me to return the jacket or not.I did visit another Local Manufacturer and Seller of G-1 and A-2 Leather Military Jackets and I tried on a size 3X and found it a little snug. They did not however have a size 4X for me to try on. Of course their prices were in the $550. range and not the $119.99 that I paid for this jacket. The sleeve length of the jacket is good, but the sleeves do feel and look baggier and puffier than my old G-1 Jacket. Perhaps the manufacturer increased the Diameter of the sleeves as well when making the 4X size jacket. Nothing bad though. The Leather Looks Great and has a Nice Dark Brown Color, although when comparing the thickness of the Leather with other jackets - the Leather feels extremely Thin. The Jacket is also very light in weight, even though it is a big 4X size. It feels like it would be warm though.I do not like the extra Hand warmer pockets and wish they would have kept it to Military Specs and Not put the hand warmer pockets in at all. They do stick out / puff out when wearing the jacket and do not lay flat and closed. I was thinking about maybe adding in some Velcro on the inside lip of these pockets to keep them closed. Because they also cause the rear edge of the Flap pockets to stick up - I wonder if the hand warmer packets will cause the Flap Pockets to come loose where they are sewed on.The Best part of the Jacket is the fake Fur Collar. It is beautiful, thick, and Luxurious. All the Buttons on the jacket do not seem like they are sewed on good and they are all loose and in danger of falling off. That includes the 2 buttons under the collar and the 2 buttons on the exterior flap pockets. Also my old Military G-1 jacket has a Button on the inside chest pocket and is also the pocket is larger than the pocket on this jacket. For $119.99 I think this Jacket is a Good Buy. It is Genuine Leather and it does look more expensive than it costs. My wife suggests that I also order and purchase another jacket in size 3X so that I will have both sizes. I just might do that.Besides if I wanted to return this jacket the shipping charges at the Post Office would probably cost me $20.00 or something like that. So I do recommend this jacket. I would also say that they do run pretty much to size - so you do Not have to worry about purchasing a Jacket one or two sizes larger than you normally wear.Landing Leathers Men's Navy G-1 Leather Flight Bomber Jacket

Look great and well made.
This was just the jacket for my husband that he had been wanting. He is retired Navy and had wanted a good leather jacket and just loves it. It is so well made and the color is perfect all over the coat.

Overall a nice jacket.
While I'm giving this jacket 5 stars there are a few things to be aware of.First, it is cut very different from my Cooper G-1, which was a perfect match for the Navy issued G-1 I had in the service in the 60's. The original G-1 was cut straight and slim. This one has a full cut like a civilian jacket. I'm not "straight and slim" any longer so this version fits me quite nicely. The original G-1 had an unisulated nylon lining. This version has an insulated cotton (?) lining and is very warm. Warm enough that it needs to be pretty chilly before it won't be uncomfortably warm to wear. Like below 50 degrees. The overall weight of this jacket is slightly heavier than the original G-1's, but the leather doesn't feel as thick or as sturdy. The original G-1 did NOT have side entry pockets. Neither does my Cooper. The pockets on this verion are side entry and the external pocket sise IS correct. That does place the entries pretty far around the sides. Changing the patch pockets to be smaller so the side entries could be more towards the front would make them obviously too small. The orignal G-1 and Cooper have a snap closure inside map pocket on the left. The pocket measures about 7-1/4 high and is deep enough and sturdy enough to hold a .45 auto pistol. This version's map pocket is only 6-1/2 insches high and not nearly deep enough or sturdy enough for something like a full size .45 auto.My Cooper is a 46R which translates to an XL I believe. I ordered this one in an L. It fit my 5'7" 210 lb self perfectly. This jacket is not goatskin and it's too soon to tell how well it will hold up compared to the original G-1's. On the other hand I paid over $300 for my Cooper 15 years ago and this version cost me a fraction of that. The fur collar is synthetic instead of mouton like the original and lighter weight.Bottom line is that this jacket is not historically accurate if that's important to you. But it is comfortable, warm, looks good and someone really has to know from owning an original government issue G-1 from the day that this version isn't historically accurate.
