I think it should be fine for bathing your alligator. In fact, I used it for bathing our crocodile before he outgrew it. And it got harder to bathe him with just one arm....

It has stood up just fine for us. Was on the deck all winter.. I just brushed off the snow everytime i was out there clearing off the deck.. Looks good as new, and kept everything dry!
