Great Bat for Youngsters
I sympathize with the people who had this bat break on them. I took a chance on it as it is near impossible to find a USA BB bat this light. I bought last yrs model. It could break tomorrow, but it has already paid dividends. My son is 6 and would be considered athletic - he has a good swing where the equipment actually makes a differnce. He was struggling with the weight of a heavier bat pulling him out of his swing, not to mention swing speed. This bat has made a massive difference. The bat is no longer controlling him. The ball definitely pops off this bat - my son consistently hits some of the hardest balls on his team. I was skeptical that shaving only 3oz's off his other bat wouldn't make a difference but it absolutely has. If it holds up, this is a great bat for the 8U player, and maybe beyond, but we aren't there yet.

A good youth bat.
This bat did very well for our 6 and 7 year old machine pitch team. Several kids used it. The bat had good pop and was light enough for the kids to maintain a good, fast, steady swing. It proved to be a good 27 inch bat for kids that still needed a lighter weight with the drop 13.

If your player can make decent contact, this bat will eventually fail
Don't do it. It will crack. It would be a great bat for a kid who needs something light who is either undersized or trying to work into a longer bat. Pre-crack, this bat was awesome. Unfortunately, these crack. Reviews all over the internet of it happening. Spring was cut short due to COVID so we only really had a full season of fall ball and the bat didn't make it a whole season. I've initiated a warranty with Easton and asked if they could credit it towards something else or at least replace with an aluminum bat, they said nope and basically good luck. I understand they have warranty guidelines, but once you get into pricier bats, you should at least get a season out of them. Hope the next one doesn't crack but I've already ordered another bat for spring ball, not an Easton for sure. I'd not have written the bad review if warranty could at least work with me. The policy even says they have discretion on a substitute bat but the guy I talked to was just blunt about not helping a longtime Easton customer out. No more Easton bats.

Worth it
My understanding is that this is the lightest hardball bat on the market (14 oz). So if your focus is bat speed or your kid isn’t too big like mine, this is a solid choice. At least half the kids on the team ask to use this bat and some can pound the ball with it.

2oz lighter than most bats in this class
Easton bats speak for themselves. I purchased this bat for my son to use during his games to give him a little more confidence and a little more swing speed because he was always "behind" the pitch. The heavier bats made it difficult for him to maintain his form and technique. That said We practice with a heavier bat to build his strength; then use this during games until his strength is where it needs to be and his technique isn't affected.

Good Bat, Sounds Dead
This is a good bat with reasonable pop. It is well-weighted and my 8 year old hammers the ball with it better than his slightly heavier drop 10. It sounds terrible (composite) - but performs pretty well.

Lighter with larger barrel
It is my sons first year playing little league rookies. He can already swing and hit off the pitching machine. He’s a smaller guy so we wanted the lightest USA certified bat we could find for his age. This one does the trick. Lighter and a larger barrel then the Typhoon. Get it, you’ll be happy.
