Wyze Cam v3 Install on BNC
Bought these to convert a previous Analog camera system (Night Owl) to a Wyze cam setup and didn't want to run new electrical to power the cams. I quickly realized that I needed a few extra components to make this work. My initial thought was to disconnect the 12v power supply that was powering the BNC cables and connect this end (the one supplying power) to the Wyze 5V power adapter. I would then use these on the camera side to convert the 2.1mm connector to USB and plug-in the camera. This setup DID NOT work as the long BNC cable run (50-100ft) dropped too much voltage to power the camera. The camera just cycled on and off. In order to solve this problem, I knew I had to push the original 12V through the BNC and just use a buck converter at the camera end to reduce the voltage down to 5V. So, to make a long story short, this is the solution I came up with which works beautifully.1) Keep everything powered as is using the 12V adapter that from the old system. If you do not have the adapter these are easily found, or you can use any adapter that is 12V and more than 1amp. The amperage does not matter as the camera will pull what it needs. It is the voltage that will cause an issue if not regulated properly.2) At the camera end, do one of the following things: (a) cut the 5.5mm x 2.1mm off the wire, strip the sheathing to expose the black and red wires and connect them directly to the buck converter (part listed below); or (2) use an adapter (part listed below) to convert the 5.5mm x 2.mm males end to wire ends so you can connect the wire ends of the buck converter to the BNC power.3) Once you have the buck converter connected, just plug the USB cable that comes with the Wyze camera into the USB output of the buck converter. (NOTE: I chose to use the buck converter listed below and leverage the long USB cord that comes with the Wyze cam and the extra USB connector on the convertor in case I wanted to power another camera in the future), but you can also get a buck converter that plugs directly into the micro USB from the camera).Parts:- Buck Converter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08R64L68D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1- DC Power Connector (press on): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08SM6GHMH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Garbage. Overheats, melts, stops working.
Absolute garbage. Overheats, melts, and bends from the minimal weight of the attached cord. Then, it stops functioning all together. I barely had this for a month. Don't waste your money.

Allows using a better power supply with my SU-1 DAC
Works for its intended purpose. The inner pack was already opened and one of the adaptors had a bent USB-C connection. The other was fine. Since I only needed one I'm ok with the purchase.

The adaptor I needed
They say it can only be used for 5V, but it's simply straight-through wired with no voltage conversion, so it can be used with other voltages also, as long as the load can accept the voltage of the supply. You shouldn't try to use this to power a 5V load with a 12V supply, but you can use it to power a 12V load with a 12V supply. USB loads are usually rated for no more than 5V, so I think that's the reason for the warning. My load is a micro-fridge that can operate with any voltage from 5V to 12V. The fridge came with a USB power cord so it can run from a 5V, 2A USB supply, but it keeps things colder when powered at 12V, so I got this adapter so I could power the fridge from a 12V supply using the USB cord. The fridge had an internal 12V supply that operated from 115VAC, but the internal supply died, and this adapter is way less expensive than buying a new fridge.

Works as expected
The AAOTOKK Type C to DC 5521 Power Adapter works well and adequately provides voltage from a power adapter to my USB device using 5V DC for charging.

To large to fit my item
I was In process of doing paperwork to return and our server( Frontier) went off line and still flips on and off so I missed my timeline to return. I’m certain the product was fine it just wouldn’t fit what I’d purchased it for
