HapeWooden Mini Van| Wooden Vehicle Toys for Toddler Gift

I bought this little wooden car when my baby was 6 months and he had little interest, as I expected. I put it away until he was starting to crawl, around 8 months. Once he was able to fully crawl, he loved this little car. At first, he’d bang it on the floor, but quickly learned to push it and chase after it. By 9.5 months, he knew how to wheel it along on the floor as he crawled. He looks for it every single day. He usually prefers to play with non “toy” items (a paper towel roll, a spoon, his bottle cap, a Tupperware bowl), but this one really catches his interest.

My 11 month old son has recently started playing a lot with things that roll - toys with wheels, balls etc. I wanted to get him some cars that were toddler sized, sturdy and cute - but not gaudy with a lot of annoying lights and needing batteries. I wasn't impressed with the quality of most of the plastic toys I saw but I have loved this line of cars from Hape.The toy is a sturdy piece of wood, bright red, rolls really smoothly across the floor (and the coffee table and other flat surfaces that my son decides to roll it on) the "windows" are perfect for a toddler to grab and he likes to push it and watch it rock too. You can easily add a string and use it as a pull toy for early walkers as well.

I will give this as a gift for every baby from here on out. I purchased this to give to my son on his 1st birthday & it is awesome. It is durable, easy to grab, attractive to have around and really flies! If I could choose just 5 toys, this would be included. I really just think you need something that teaches object permanence, a lovey, something that rolls, something to chew on and something that stacks and/or nests!

Nice bright color and easy to hold for those crawling kiddos. He loves to move it along under his own power as he’s crawling while saying vroom vroom.

My grandson was just over one when I met him for the first time and gave him this minivan. He enjoyed it! Which is to say, he stopped crying, picked it up, and began pushing it around on the rug. I don't know what there is about a good toy to help with bonding, but there certainly is something. He looked at me, looked back at the vehicle, and continue to push it.It really is a quality toy. The wood is smoothly sanded, the colors are bright, and the wheels rotate very easily. I'm checking out the line of toys; I hope there are more in the set.

We love this little car! Well-made and timeless. We plan to purchase the matching helicopter and airplane.

When I received this toy, I was surprised at its size. It was bigger and heavier than expected. However it's still good, not small enough to cause choking hazard. Most importantly my 9 month old son loves it! He would use his hand to roll the car, I would make the sound 'vrooom vroooom' and he would laugh.4 stars because the paint has come off after a few chews and bites from my son. I guess it's ok since Hape says it's made of non toxic paint.
