Be CERTAIN to also get the Super Up Detailed set to go with this great model. There are about 12 small PE sheets with the model, but the Superdetail set yields over 20, PLUS a wooden deck! As an example, there are 61 20mm Oerlikon AA guns on the ship. The basic model has the base,gun, all one plastic piece, and a PE splinter shield to add to it. The super detailed PE set has each of those guns comprised of maybe 12 different PE parts! It will probably take me several months just to finish the 20mm AA guns! Then there are the 8-pompom mounts, etc. Ladders galore, ships boats super detailed, total PE crane, INTERIOR of the stack, much too much to review here. In addition, this Trumpeter kit does not have the 2-piece hull, so no waterline option is available, BUT, there is super detailing of the hull, right down to the bilge keels (that are separate pieces! The bottom of the hull has some parting lines that probably wouldn't even be noticeable if they weren't sanded! The entire ship in this scale is 42" long, by 7" in the beam! Very UNUSUAL design in that all triple turret 16" guns were forward of the bridge, which is set way back. A GREAT looking addition to any collection, in super-large scale. My only complaint: NO rigging instructions!
