Great models in multiple poses for artists to learn from

The photography in the book is very dynamic, even within very simple setups. This could make for very good subjects learning figure drawing. Unfortunately, the printing in the book is genuinely not great; standard-sized pages might have helped hide some of the lower fidelity of what the printer could handle, but many pages even exhibit vertical lines that clearly show the printing was subpar, and many cases detail is lost where the photographer clearly intended something sharper with this collection.

While the photographs are well composed, well lit, and generally very good, I must complain about the printing. The resolution is so low that grain is easily visible even in a dark room. And the contrast is less than half what it should be. Any public library's xerox machine would do better printing than what's in this book. Seriously, the quality of the photograph printings is so low one should re-think purchasing this book. I recommend sticking with a serious publisher of art photography, like Taschen.

"Naked Afternoons" is a fun book and it make one think as well. The pictures of young, unclothed models are well composed, exquisitely printed and often seasoned with bits of understated, mischievous humor. The book is constructed like a visual symphony: each part having a theme such as Bowler, Chaise, Chair, Hair and so on. The photographer gives each model room to improvise on one of these themes and that's when the fun begins! Spend time with each picture and you'll observe a unique collaboration between photographer, model and prop. No, this is definitely not your ordinary book of nude portraits!

This is a very good book. It has a hilarious introduction. It has great black and white pictures of beautiful women. It is not at all like the nudes you see in men's magazines. If you want a book of tasteful nude photography you should consider this book.

This is a fantastic collection of quirky, original, and compelling art nude photographs. The author does a great job of representing and celebrating all types of women. An excellent addition to any art lover's collection.
